the good news…here is the recipe for the jam squares i made last week…(see last week’s blog)…
2 cups sugar
5 cups flour
2 tsp cream of tarter
1lbs unsalted butter (4 sticks of butter…melted)
5 egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 jars all fruit jam- i used strawberry but the recipe calls for apricot and raspberry.
pre heat oven to 350 degrees f.
combine the sugar, flour, cream of tartar and melted butter.
add the egg yolks and vanilla extract and mix well with your hands.
take half the batter and press it into a parchment paper lined jelly roll pan…(you can use a rolling pin or your hands.. i used my hands).
spread whatever jam you are using on the batter (if using two types do half and half).
take the other half of the batter and sprinkle it over the top of the jam…so it resembles crumbs on top. (look at last week’s blog to see what it looks like.)
bake for about 1 hour…cool completely and cut into squares.
now for the bad news…NOT REALLY BAD NEWS! but
