  • Jenny talks about how her sister Stacy had sent her photos of when Jenny was overweight a couple of years ago, Holly asks Jenny if it is reassuring for her to see those photos and Jenny responds with how reassuring it is and looking at those photo’s she is able to maintain her weight.
  • Jenny had Marion Nestle on today’s show; she is the author of the book ‘Why Calories Count’. Marion is also a professor in the department of nutrition, food studies and public health.
  • Jenny and Marion talk about Marion’s book, and how Jenny thinks it doesn’t matter how much calories you’re in taking as long as you are in control of it. Marion tells Jenny her perspective on calorie counting. Jenny asks Marion if people’s health depends on the nutrition we put in our bodies. Marion responds that people don’t know the right information about calories, and weighing yourself regularly to see if you are eating too many calories is the best way to tell.
  • Jenny asks Marion what is the amount of calories a woman should consume in a day, and Marion responds with, it depends on the weight of the woman, usually around 2000 calories a day. Marion recommends that people should weigh themselves regularly to help them maintain their weight goals. Jenny and Marion talk about the changes in the food pyramid, both weigh in their opinions on it. Jenny tells Marion about her eating habits, and Marion gives Jenny advice about her eating habits. Jenny and Marion talk about junk food and the best way to avoid it.

  • Jenny is joined by Weight Watchers President and CEO David Kirchhoff. Jenny talks about how great David looks and how he is in great shape. Jenny talks about how it took David 9 years to reach his weight goal and his struggle getting there, which he shares in his new book, ‘Weight Loss Boss’.
  • David tells Jenny that the biggest problem he sees within people trying to lose weight is when they reach their weight loss goal, they think they are finished with their goal and don’t continue to maintain their weight.  David talks about a blog he started 3 years ago where he talked about his personal experiences with losing weight.  Many people thought weight loss would have come easy for him because he is the CEO of Weight Watchers. David tells Jenny how he sets short term goals for himself, and how he always faces situations with will power with eating. David and Jenny talk about working out and David tells Jenny his daily routine with exercising. Jenny and David talk about little tricks when it comes to food and weight control.
  • Jenny compliments David’s honesty with his book and tells David some of the parts of the book she enjoyed. Listeners call in with questions for David about Weight Watchers.
  • Jenny mentions how she likes to read the message boards on weightwatchers.com, how many people share their stories on their and others feel better after reading them.
  • Jenny talks more about the book, and what she thinks people will get out of reading it.  Jenny and David talk about the advantages of losing weight, one being, able to fit into clothes again.

  • Jenny mentions the death of the “Where the Wild Things Are’ book author Maurice Sendak passed away at 83. Jenny thinks people shouldn’t die at that age with so many new medical technologies we have. Jenny talks about the book and how she grew up reading it.
  • Jenny talks about how she had a colonoscopy and an endoscopy yesterday and how she feels today after getting one. Jenny asks listeners to call in with their experiences if they have ever had colonoscopies or endoscopies and how they managed after having them. Jenny mentions how she posted a YouTube video and on her site of her after the procedures.
  • Jenny also mentions this Friday, Jenny will be co-hosting a fan forum for the book ’50 Shades of Grey”, and how you can start purchasing tickets through her website to come and watch!
  • Jenny also wants to know why are people so afraid to tell their doctors when they aren’t feeling well. Listeners call in with response to Jenny’s procedures and tell Jenny about how they felt after they have had theirs. Jenny also talks about the prep she went through before having the procedures.
  • Holly tells Jenny how she is afraid of being under anesthesia, and when she had to get all 4 of her wisdom teeth out she had novacane and sat through the pain. Holly and Jenny talk about prescription drugs doctors make people take after procedures.
  • Jenny gives away a Hungry Girl book to lucky winner Cathy from Georgia!
  • Listeners continue to tell Jenny about their experiences when they had colonoscopies and endoscopies.
  • Jenny is with Christy Turlington.  They go right into talking about Christy’s cause Every Mother Counts, about mothers who die during child birth. Jenny asks Christy how she got involved with this, and Christy tells her how she had complications with when she was pregnant with one of her children.
  • Christy tells Jenny how Starbucks has joined in helping the cause by selling soundtracks for the cause.
  • Jenny talks about how Christy is married to actor Ed Burns; Jenny compliments Christy on her marriage with Ed Burns, how well they are together. Jenny compliments Christy on how natural and great she looks, and asks her how she is able to maintain looking like that. Christy tells Jenny she guesses it is from good genes and taking care of herself. She also has been doing yoga for the last 25 years.
  • Jenny asks Christy what she thought about the Ashley Judd puffy face story and Christy tells Jenny how she is happy Ashley stood up for herself. Jenny and Christy talk about ageing.  Jenny and Christy talk about their children and both raising daughters.

  • Jenny has Paul Feig on her show today; He is the executive producer and director of the film ‘Bridesmaids”. Jenny and Paul talk about the movie and Jenny tells Paul how her children love the film and watch it all the time. Jenny talks about all of Paul’s accomplishments with directing and producing.
  • Jenny brings up the story she brought up a while ago about her nieces teacher who had taught his class about the Holocaust, and Jenny wasn’t happy with how it had been taught. Jenny was upset about that and decided to email the teacher telling him how she felt and wanted to meet with him in person and he responded back with not wanting to meet in person. Jenny felt it was unsettled, and at a school event this past weekend Jenny was face to face with that teacher and she confronted him (in her words “attacked” him). The teacher and Jenny spoke and decided to meet with the school’s principle. Jenny went today to meet with them, and tells us what happened at the meeting and how the teacher did not mean what he had said about Hitler to offend anyone. Listener calls in and agrees with Jenny on what she did with situation. Jenny made it clear the teacher was misunderstood and is not antisemitic. All is well!
  • Jenny and Paul talk more about the ‘Bridesmaids” movie and her experience when she first watched it. Holly givers her opinion on the movie as well. Listener calls and tells Jenny and Paul how much she has enjoyed the movie. Jenny asks Paul how he got into the entertainment industry and working in television. Paul tells Jenny how he started out as a standup comedian and actor first and always wrote.
  • Jenny and Paul talk about facebook. Paul tells Jenny how in high school he was tormented but it worked out in his favor in the long run.
  • Jenny and Paul talk about the recent news of the death of the co-founder of the group Beastie Boys’ Adam Yauch. Jenny and Paul talk about how sad the news is and how they were fans of them.

  • Jenny asks Paul how he got started with the show ‘Freaks and Geeks’. Paul tells Jenny how he came about writing the script for the show and the concept. Paul talks about some of the great producers he has worked with in the past.

  • Jenny and Sandra talk about Sandra’s appearance and Jenny is shocked to hear Sandra is 57 years old? And how great she looks. Sandra tells Jenny how she is able to keep herself like that. She tells Jenny she has good genes, a good dermatologist, eats healthy and exercises often.
  • Jenny and Sandra talk about performers and how sometimes people go through hard ships in the entertainment industry. Jenny relates it to her story of when she used to co-host on the Martha Stewart channel.
  • Sandra tells Jenny about her upcoming appearance on the ‘GCB’ show starring Kristen Chenowith. Sandra talks about what her appearance will be. Jenny and Sandra talk about Kristen Chenowith and how great of a person she is.

  • Jenny has Tug Cooker on her show. Tug is currently starring in the Broadway play ‘Magic/Bird’. Jenny and Tug talk about how he is a low key actor at the moment but hopes he is able to star in more upcoming roles. Jenny gives him reassurance that he will succeed with his acting career.
  • Jenny asks Tug about his relationship with his girlfriend of 9 years. Jenny is curious to why they aren’t married yet. Jenny tells us how her and Tug have met in the past, they met at a dance studio that Jenny brought her daughter to. Jenny then tells Tug how she found him on twitter. Jenny and Tug talk about facebook and how easily it is to be sucked in once you start using it, and an easy way to find people from your past.
  • Jenny asks Tug if he was athletic growing up. Tug tells Jenny how he was more athletic during high school, not so much during college. Jenny and Tug talk about the current Broadway show he is on and Tug gives us a more insight on what it is about. He also tells Jenny how the actor Josh Duhamel inspires him as an actor.
  • Tug talks about the kind of relationship he has with his mother. Jenny gives advice to Tug and tells him he should write a script for his own movie about his journey of becoming an actor.

  • Jenny and Lisa talk about Lisa’s new book ‘Big Fun Sexy Sex Book’. Jenny tells Lisa how great it is she wrote a book like this for a better understanding for women’s sex lives. Lisa shares with Jenny how after having her first child, she went through postpartum depression and lost her sex drive. She tells Jenny how she was able to overcome that.
  • Jenny talks about how there are many women out there who do need help with their sex lives and some are afraid to admit it or seek help. Lisa and Jenny both agree that what magazines post on their covers and inside, give women the wrong idea of who to be.
  • Jenny commends Lisa for being so open about her life. Jenny and Lisa talk about women who lie about dieting, and they both don’t understand what there is to hide. Jenny and Lisa talk more about the book, and Lisa tells Jenny she had many negative comments on twitter about her writing the book.
  • Jenny and Lisa talk about how important sex is in a relationship and in many ways helps overcome anxiety. Jenny and Lisa talk about their relationships with their husbands.
