hi everyone!
my daughter’s birthday is in the summer so her teachers are celebrating her "half birthday" (which actually fell during vacation) in school tomorrow. i made the cupcakes. i made two kinds, chocolate and vanilla. and i was inspired by these awesome heart shaped baking tins (tinfoil brand)… so cute! i made the cake from scratch but totally cheated by using store bought icing.
adorable pans!
vanilla cupcake ingredients (all dry pre-measured).

chocolate cupcakes ingredients (all dry pre-measured).

the cupcakes were all a bit sticky so i froze them then removed the baking tins while they were frozen (so they are easy to eat in school). they are back in the freezer so they will be super fresh and tasty tomorrow.
xoxo

They are adorable! A tip, though; Icing from a can is not as good as home made- next time save time by using boxed cake mix and make the icing- I have found thay are much tastier! But your daughter will love them either say, though! Good mama!

You are adorable and are the kind of mom I was. My babies are now 32 and 24 and I miss making them fancy cupcakes and stuff… My daughter has a 12/29 birthday so I celebrated her birthday in June so she could have some friends over. Oh, and I also used to give her Valentine Tea Parties, too! (the little girls were required to come frilly in pink, red and/or white) The little girls got flowers and candy and ate heart shaped sandwiches, cookies, etc. pink lemonade, etc.
Oh, and when my son was in 3 y/o nursery school 3 mornings a week, his teacher just up and left one day and my son and I were both “crushed”. He really liked her and I did too. (He got over it before I did!) Love you and keep up the good mothering. “It’s a good thing”!

They look yummy and I love heart. I like this time of the year because there’s all kinds of heart stuff to buy! In fact, my house is all nice and decorated for Valentine’s Day already! I’ll send pictures…

So cute and they look delish. Your girl will certainly love them. Sidebar: is it just my computer or is alexis’ side of the blog page waaay bigger than yours. It it making your side look too narrow.

Did you use organic flour and organic eggs and organic sugar and organic baking powder and organic water and organic vanilla like Alexis would?
If you didn’t, you are a bad mom.

Great CupCakes! Agreed with the icing. I use my grandmother’s Settlement cookbook for the GREATEST chocolate cake E-V-E-R…it’s called QUICK COCOA cake and the frosting recipe follows the cake instructions. I make that cake for ALL the birthdays in our house! ENJOY! Happy 1/2 b-day to your daughter!

The cupcakes look great.
BUT …
The fact that the school has half birthday parties for the kids with summer B-days is total crap.
This world is raising a bunch of spoiled brat sissys.
Jenn,
will you son be allowed to play football or is that “too dangerous” ???
