hi everyone..
i went to my otolaryngologist today (fancy word for ear, nose and throat dr.) because i have had a hoarse voice for about 10 days and i figured SOMETHING was up… well, it is.
i have some bruising on the right side of my vocal chords (in the picture look under the “r) and you can see a bump. (i know it’s on YOUR left)….
dr. gwen korovin takes amazing care of me even though i am way unimportant compared to her roster of absolute superstars…

i am not permitted to talk other than during the two hours of the show till friday! FRIDAY!
keithy is thrilled, my kids are fine… i am already (only a few hours into silence) frustrated.

So what did the doctor give you or tell you to do to remedy this….besides no talking? Any home remedies or advice? And, what happpened to cause this?
I can’t believe you Dr. didn’t take insurance? I can see for botox injections and that kind of stuff but not for this. At my hospital we have a very good ENT service and they do the same type of stuff. Did he go down your nose with the scope or down your throat? Stay silent!!

the doctor said i should speak as little as possible for now..hopefully that will help it heal. (yes i can do the show and will do the show- and we are live today!)
i’m not sure how it happened but i will say it is not easy to not speak!
the only other thing she gave me was an antibiotic incase there is an underlying infection as well…

Jen, I hope you get your voice back soon. I know it is frustrating. I am getting over a cold and have a real raspy voice going on, I hope I don’t lose my voice. I know my hubby would love it though! LOL

That is really a nasty picture if you don’t know what you are looking at! Jennifer I am getting over laryngitis myself- a cold that won’t go away and a lost voice for two days but being a teacher i really can’t rest my voice- especially with first graders!!
