In order to find a holistic healer you are going to need to open yourself to accept the abnormal. I see a message therapist once a month that uses her hands placed about 3 inches off my body to clean out my endocrine and juxtacrine systems (after an excellent message). I don’t question what she does because afterwards I feel so much better. I’m not a sickly person and I don’t have anxiety issues or anything, but since I’ve been going to her (6 months) I’ve lost 24 pounds.

Crazy!

Read this book (or listen to it on audio): Power of Now
give it a chance, it might take a while to get into it. You don’t have to believe in everything he says but even a little bit can be helpful. This is not a standard self-help book, I think you may like it.

jennifer, what is up with the exra large bold type?
Mike says
Ah hahaha

Cathy says
Oh, man, just how much did you pay for your visit with the doctor who gave you the “magic bead” and how long was your visit with him/her?
P.S. what is a “message therapist?”
Heather says
The only person who can help you with your “issues” is YOU. Quit using healers and witch doctors and your botox supplier as crutches. Grow up and improve your life YOURSELF.
Joplin says
What issues?
Christian says
Hey Jennifer,
Have you tried meditating? I always think that I should, but I know that over half of the battle is giving yourself time to just sit there and be quiet. I think that might help you be a little calmer and less anxious.
Deanna S says
I’m sorry but I can’t believe anyone could prescribe that bead with a straight face!!!
I believe in holistic medicine but you just have to do your own research and make sure the supplements and alternative therapies they give you have been tested and scientifically proven to be of benefit.
It’s kind of like going to a psychic…
Can they perform hocus pocus, talk to the dead and solve all of your future problems? Probably NOT! Can they give you some good insight from a different perspective than a traditional therapist? Probably YES!
Laura says
Hi Jennifer, my comment is totally unrelated to your blog… I was just reading the FAQs on this website and noticed that a few thing were out of date. For example, Alexis doesn’t have Guy as a boyfriend anymore, Emily is no longer your producer and you do not get ready on the floor in the hallway anymore…
Monica says
Although I have been a listener for some time now I am not sure I know what your “issues” are. I know about the anxiety problem but what else is there? Are you referring to your wanting to lose weight or other health stuff? Anyway, just curious. The guy with the bead sounds like a nut job but I am a skeptic when it comes to things like that: quaky mumbo jumbo. I think I missed the show where you first talked about going to see this guy. I am curious to know what the motivation was. I am also somewhat surprised that Alexis would go for this kind of approach. I must have missed something…
gigicat says
have you tried integrative medicine??
Linda pittsburgh.. says
Well
That does seem like a stupid method for any type of cure..
I would ask for a chemical content report as well as a success story verified by former paitents report.
Never injest anything of which you know zero about. Plus who had their grimey hands on it before you got it?
Is it sterile? Is it one of those diamond micro chips? Is it one of those chips that track your every move?
Really…
seems pretty stupid. The hearts I sent are not to be eaten or used inside the body..they are just to look at or sit a cup of coffee on…
but that thing there?
that could be a silicone bead from something?
Looks like an ant egg?
Or an insect egg? ew….
Oh and Jennifer am i talking to the [ Mean new Jennifer?} Or the old version?
Nice one?
Stef in Seattle says
This reminds me of Jack and the Beanstalk… Magic beans… ahem.. beads.. my dear. All you need is magic beads.
Poor Jack… although, if I remember correctly.. it worked..
i doubt it’ll kill you. And I think if it’s as great as he says, you should take it anyway and just see what happens..
Maybe your hair will grow longer or something. 😉
Grumpy says
I think you should have Cris Angel MindFraek on your show- if you are into Magic – beads or otherwise
Monica says
Gigicat is giving you a good idea. Check out http://www.aimedicine.com. Many of the top-rated hospitals in the country are getting into this. Truly worth looking into.

Jennifer,
If you are looking for something to help you sleep (thats not a ‘drug’) try the hormone Melatonin. You should be able to pick up a bottle at any health food store (GNC etc…). Melatonin is found in all living creatures. I used to have broken sleep, sometimes insomnia, and not feel rested. This stuff really worked for me.
Its cheap and natural – good luck.

Ok I am listening to the show and I hear the bead is calcium and about the dr{?}
Really this is no better than a Native American treatment.A Shauman type remedy?
please ladies stop this madness!!
Kim G. says
Have you tried to find an MD that is an herbalist? Sometimes they are call integrative practitioners or integrative health. I work at an outpatient medical facility and we had a provider that come once a week and see patient’s in his integrative health clinic. He can order all the “western” tests and meds but he is also trained as an herbalist. He will recommend/prescribe different herbs and such instead of “western” or regular meds. Of course, if something is horribly wrong he can tell you and treat just as a “regular” MD would. It’s great I see him for my PMS, high cholesterol and other issues. He is also working with me to try to avoid diabetes as I have a family history of it. Check it out this type of doctor may be what you are wanting, kind of the best of both worlds so to speak.
Shiloh says
that bead is ridiculous!
big pete says
Im thinkin you need Keithie to play with “your” tiny bead…you will feel great trust me.

Why do you now have advertising beside your blog?

Dear JJ (that is your nick name, from here on in, Jennifer Joel) anyway about your witch doctor, Money Money It’s a Rich Man’s World. just like Joel. Didn’t hear, how much you paid him. Yes JJ when I called in about Rosie I knew you were preaching, good acting to say the least. I still have a bet with you, $100.00. Tell Paulie to get his ass back to work, Chris is really funny, and I think you both like him, but I still love my Pauley
Ok what's this Chris look like? says
we need his face up on this here blog jennifer..:)

The magic bead is worthless and pretty much what is known as a PLACIBO
nudda….I had this guy sedn out radio vibes to purify my water..he said a prayer over it and it was supposed to make the water[ like yours] super pure great smooth…healthy great water…
i gave some of the blessed water to my cat to see if he would be nice?
It was not so…
forget that witch dr…
wait till he tells ya to eat beef brains or sweetbreads..
Jo says
Wow, that bead couid be anything… you aren’t really going to take it are you?
bernadette says
Take the pill. It is magic. Poof !!! If this pill did work, “witch doctors” would be making as much as Martha. But take it just for the fun of it!
rainey day listener says
Sorry I have to add something.. in regard to Jo’s message about “you arent going to take that are you” Let me ask you Jo if your MD told you to take a certain prescription would you question him? If Jennifer (and Alexis) checked out this doctor and he is in fact a doctor (any type) dont you think that especially Alexis would have been smart enough to make sure he was a licensed physician. She has way too many resources available to her to make a cold call to a doctor. Every cure is not for every one. Perhaps this doctor is on to something, perhaps he is studying medicine from another country..You know one of those countries that is much healthier than us “SAD” americans? Or would you prefer to take medical advice from say Dr. Brent Ridge on Martha Stewart Living Radio, what a complete idiot, obviously been bought out by the pharmaceudical companies. Don’t brush off what you know nothing about. For example: Do you know what is in your toothpaste? You use it daily right? Go ahead go read the label! When you look up the “big” words we can talk again!
Bearz says
Jennifer contact the Deepak Chopra center in Manhattan. Here’s their website https://www.chopracenterny.com/
rainy day listener says
Hi Jennifer,
Okay a holistic doctor is going to seem weird to you because you (like most americans) you have grown up in a medicine cabinet, from the time you cut your first tooth you have been medicated and treated with a quick fix. We love quick fixes and today expect them. Sometimes to correct a problem it is much more lengthy a process. I have recently been introduced to a program although not for myself seemed very interesting for those who are trying to lose weight. Its called Smart for Life. It is in Florida and I am sure several other states too.. I know someone using the program who failed at Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers and self deprovation(ha ha ha sorry) anyway its her third week and she is down 12 lbs (and eating!) The system apparently is very clean (in which I mean Alexis would even approve, organic etc) No you cant live on a program but if you lose the weight you want to then take on a healty approach to eating, exercizing and healthful living TA Da! You will have a whole new Jennifer. Research it…its very interesting. My girlfriend is doing well on it.
Mel says
The BEAD….Been there done that….it is SHIT. However bad your problem is now….that bead only makes it worse…TRUST ME. SORRY

I just wonder in your bead and Alexis’s bead came from the same bit of candy???
T says
Looks like once you put this little thingy into the waterbottle you may end up drinking it with your first cup of “special” water. You’d never know. Whow, what a hoax! I can send you girls some blue eggs if you’d like. They’re left over from last easter. hahahaa

Dump Paulie! The new guy’s awesome!
Pittsburgh says
Well girls…about the shower and falling..how about cleaning the glass door so well that i ran into it thinking it was open..and stubbing my toe on the edge of it?
Connie says
I need to know more about the bead.
Did you swallow it? How would you know?
Where did he get it? Was it in a drawer filled with these tiny beads? Where they individually wrapped? How much packaging is necessary for such a small bead? How much did it cost? I think its a flake of dandruff. I would ask for a q-tip next time. At least you could find it if you dropped it. I would like to hear more about the bead on the show.
Also, LOVE LOVE LOVE the show.
Liz says
Try a homeopathic doctor. Or get a book about in a health food store. I went to a homeoptathic psychiatrist. I know several people who had much success with it. It takes a few tries to find the exact remedy because it is very specific to the person and all of their symptoms.
Don’t go see the crazy witch doctor again. Hope you didn’t spend a lot of money.

My mouth has been hanging open for a solid minute! That looks like a grain of salt!
