hi everyone!
i used the martha’s cookie book to make these luscious cream cheese blondies..
i couldn’t believe how easy they were… i was sure i screwed up but nope! they came out really well.
here are the ingredients.
forming the dough for the bottom layer.
whipping the cream cheese topping/swirl.
first layer.
cream cheese layer with more of dough topping.
swirled around…here is when i thought it wasn’t going to come out for sure!
and out of the oven.
yummy cross section.
i too had left over bananas so i made a nut free banana bread.
all the liquids mixed together.
added the dry ingredients.
oven ready!
yummy!
xoxo

Hope you are having fun on vacation and are not spending all your time in the kitch, although that’s not too bad. Your cookies look to die for. The bread looks great also, although I would love nuts. Amy

Wow, the blondies look amazing. I’m definitely going to try them. You and Alexis inspire me so much! I just ordered my first Kitchenaid stand mixer today! I’m going to be a baking fool when it gets here.

These look delicious! When you aren’t on vacation, do you cook/bake mainly on the weekends, at night or when the mood strikes?

You guys really make me want to bake and bake. Jules, you will LOVE your mixer!! I have had mine for 3 years and everytime I use it I comment on how it’s the best purchase I have ever made! Jennifer, how do you keep from eating everything you bake? I’m going to weight 300 pounds just reading your blogs! I can’t stay out of the goods when I bake!

Miss you gals on the ride home, but I have to tell you how yummy your baked goods look!! I picked up the COOKIES book at Costco last week ($13.99 – a bargain!) and it is by far the best cookie baking book I have ever seen. Just gorgeous! I baked the Sugar Cookies (lemony good!) for my family and they were a big hit. I’m seriously thinking of having my Book Club read COOKIES when it’s my pick. I can have everyone bring a batch of their favorites when we meet to discuss. Or maybe we can have a baking session!

Hi Jennifer, looks like you are having fun! I noticed that it appears you line your pans with parchment paper? Is this right, and if so, what is the purpose of it?
Sandy says
Once I finally receive my cookie book I intend to bake a cookie a month and share them with the neighbors and my fam back in PA! Those blondies look yummy Jennifer!

Looks yummy! Hope you are having a great vacation. Jules, I have had my Kitchen Aid Cobalt Blue 4 1/2 qt stand mixer for over 20 years. It still works great and it looks great too. I am planning on buying another one this year, the 5 quart, so I can have two going when I am baking tons of cookies at Christmas.
Here’s a hint that will save you a bunch of clean up. The Kitchen Aid is very powerful. Use the lowest settings on the machine until you get used to it. Flour/batter will fly everywhere if you start out on a higher setting like 2 or 3. Get the batter wet before powering it up higher. Also, when I have to add a bunch of flour in, I usually drape a dish towel over the top of the mixing head and make a tent over the mixer and bowl. Keeps the flour under control. Have fun with it!

No offense, but you and Alexis are begining to make me wonder if you’re being paid to promote Martha’s cookie book.

I have 2 kitchen aids, one crapped out last year. We use it several times every day. I had it repaired and it seems to have lost the ability to mix on the lowest setting. I use the same technique as Sonja, except I use a damp towel instead of dry. That’s how we mix icing in our bakery too. It really does solve the whole problem of flour all over the counter.

Thanks for the tips Sonja!! The mixer is scheduled to arrive Monday. I can’t wait!!!
