hi everyone!
i made these sugar cookies…but improvised with all the sprinkles…DIDN’T taste so great.
they look cute but (to me) tasted off…i’m guessing the sprinkles ruined them. i gave them to a few ppl who all said they were yummy… i am not sure i believe them. (one batch makes 10 cookies only! so i made two batches for a total of 20!)
ingredients: (i know…the sour cream is not organic… i had none in the house and the local store didn’t have organic!)
ready for baking:
out of the oven:
and the nonpareils version in the back..

Just wanted to say that the oatmeal cookies you were talking about (heard the show through the three day trial thing) are definitely Archway! They can’t be Mothers like that one woman said, because Mother’s is an exclusively west coast brand. Though and excellent brand none the less. In fact, want to gain 10 luscious pounds next time your in California? Then eat Mother’s Taffy cookies. Oh My God!

Love the show!!! Found it on the dial by accident and now I’m hooked and telling EVERYONE I know to listen in! 🙂 Love the blogs too… shows how real you both are, and I think it’s great that you both take the time to respond to the blog comments! The cookies look great and I bet the kids love them! Thanks for a great show! I now look forward to the drive home from work… only problem is that I only have Sirius in the car so I usually get home before the show is over with. 🙁

Those look so yummy. I’m pretty sure I saw Martha sprinkles in her product line at Macy’s. I think I’ll try those for a party.
I’m almost sure I heard Rosie invite you and Alexis to Jones Beach today when she appeared on the show. Something about a True Colors tour in June. I had to rewind the Tivo a couple of times.

How the hell can you guys bake so much and not weigh 500lbs each? I can’t keep baked goods in the house; they always seem to end up in my stomach. They look delicious, but keep them away from me!
missy says
yes you’re right they do look like crap and probably tasted like crap, why do you try so hard, just go buy some at the bakery and stop trying to be Alexis, she isn’t even that great of a baker herself.

Those look like the good ones you’d get at a real bagel place. Were they buttery and light? They look like they taste fabulous! Wow!!
Olivia says
They look nice…but ya gotta be careful with sprinkles. They get stale and some have a chemical taste because of the coloring. Try sugar cookies with that chunky sanding sugar…
Erica from Ohio says
They look good. I bet I would like them. Also, we don’t care whether or not you use organic food. I’m sure 90% of your listeners can’t afford to buy EVERYTHING organic. I know I can’t!
Carrie says
They look great and I love sprinkles. I’m surprised that they didn’t taste good because Martha has great recipes. I just made some blueberry muffins from a recipe off her web site and they are great!

Hi Jen,
I have found that sprinkles always look better than they taste. But for the record, your cookies look MARVELOUS!
Do love nonpareils…they should have tasted better.

Maybe it’s the quantity of different colors on them, might be too many on each cookie Nevertheless, you had the energy to do it!

Hey Missy, why bother taking the time to be nasty? Let’s see what you’ve baked lately.

The best thing about you as a cook, Jennifer, is your willingness to use your creativity and experiment. I’m sure the cookies tasted great, but if you didn’t like them, I’ll bet you come up with something great for the next batch!

what is the fun of buying, when you can learn something by baking. keep it up!!!! some turn out some don’t that is the fun of it.

I wish you wouldn’t be so overly critical of yourself… You are a perfectly lovely girl who has more to offer the world than just baking (which is more than I can say about someone else on your show). I’ll bet the cookies came out delicious and required no extra sugar, since they were made by your sweet hands. Keep up the good work, Jenny!

Emmy is right, Jenny! I, too, heard Rosie O’Donnell invite you to the True Colors Tour! The B52’s will be performing with Cyndi Lauper this year (last year it was Erasure) and I think I’ll have to go again just to hear them play. p.s. The concert in Dallas wasn’t at all packed last June, but then again, Rosie wasn’t added to the venue until the very last minute…

Hey Jennifer-
i made these cookies and they are amazing….I have done just the regular sugar and also added M & M’s- both were great, but maybe sprinkles aren’t the right thing- good to know!
keep baking and sharing-
Thank you!
