Oh my gosh, Jennifer I am so so so very sorry. My heart just aches for the sorrow your family is feeling. Please know there are so many of us sending you prayers and good thoughts at this time.
Jennifer, you have your Mom’s smile. You are a beautiful daughter – she raised you well. I’m so sorry for your loss. May God bless and keep you and your family.
Be comforted by the belief your Mother is now in a peaceful and happy place, free of pain and hardship. She is eternally beautiful there and loves you still. When the grieving is done, she will come back to you in a vibrant and alive memory.
I am so very, very sad. Bunny was an extraordinary woman, I loved her dearly. To her wonderful family whom she adored and was so very proud of, your world was a better place because she was in it. Please accept hugs, kisses and love from our family to yours. We are grieving with you.
Dear Jennifer- Please believe that your beloved Mother is still available to you when you need her. She will visit you in your dreams and when you least expect it. Stay open to this possibility to feel her wonderful soul- it does happen. You will feel a sense of peace realizing that she will always still be there for you.
Bless you and your family
What a gorgeous picture! That is a great way to remember her – smiling, happy and exuding wonderful style. Jennifer, you are an amazing woman and I have to imagine that your mother was extremely proud of you. You have handled this whole situation beautifully and honestly. Much love to you and your family.
So, so sorry to hear about this, Jennifer. Every day her spirit will live on because every day you will think of her and remember all that she was. Some days you will be sad, other days she will make you smile. It’s been seven years since my grandmother passed away at the age of 65 and not a day goes by that I don’t think of her. May Bunny rest in peace and may you and your family have the strength to go on.
Jennifer, you are her legacy and you have made her so proud. I am so sorry for your loss. Her spirit will live on through you and your wonderful, witty, and sometimes wacky outlook on life. Thank you for sharing your/her journey with us. I hope it has helped you heal a little. Thinking of you and your family.
I can not say anything to help you. Your days will now be counting how many day has passed since your mom been gone. nothing can help the sadness and loss you feel. take all the time you need and know your fans will be supportive of you through these difficult days. You mom is beautiful and it shows through you.
I was afraid to log on and check out what’s going on. Your mom looks like a beautiful woman, and you are so lucky to have had her! I’m so sorry for your incredible loss. Love, Ariel in Miami
Cancer sucks. You don’t have to accept this, sometimes it’s okay to have a broken heart. I hope you can see her again one day. It’s a crazy love between a mother and child. If it won’t last for infinity, nothing will.
Jennifer – my thoughts and prayers and with you and your family. Your father, brother, sister, husband, and children all need each other more than ever…you have a lot of people thinking and praying about you.
i am so sorry for your loss. i hope you and your family find strength and comfort together in the coming days. it sounds like your mom was an amazing person, one of a kind.
take care of yourself.
I am standing upon the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze
and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength,
and I stand and watch until at last she hangs
like a speck of white cloud
just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says,
” There she goes! ”
Gone where?
Gone from my sight . . . that is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar
as she was when she left my side
and just as able to bear her load of living freight
to the place of destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just at the moment
when someone at my side says,
” There she goes! ”
there are other eyes watching her coming . . .
and other voices ready to take up the glad shout . . .
Jennifer, My deepest sympathy. There isn’t anything worse than losing a parent. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I hope knowing how many people care about you helps you though somehow.
Jennifer, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Having lived through the same thing, I know that the one thing that will get you through everything is the love and support of family, which I know you have.
So very sorry on your mom’s passing. You are a product of her, and she will continue on through you and your children. Take it hour by hour, day by day, there will be good days and bad ones and somehow the pain does get a little better. Hope the Shiva will help keep you busy. Hang in there, we do care a lot about our radio friends!
I am so sorry. The grace, wisdom and love you selflessly give your family and friends is a wonderful tribute to the woman who instilled those virtues.
If you look for it, you will forever see the signs that “Bunny” is alive and well within your children, siblings and within you. G-d bless you and your family.
My older sister, Ann, worked for your mom ( and your dad )for a few years. Ann always spoke so highly of Bunny. She was incredibly generous to my sister and also my own mom with some great trips, shows and dinners. She was at her best sharing her stories with that infectious laugh and smile. She was simply a Legend.
Our hearts and prayers go out to your family. Love, Clifford Aikens
Jennifer, I am so sorry for your loss. I could tell from your post that you truly loved your mother and will be missing her desperately. My prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult time.
Dear Jennifer… I am so very sorry for your loss. My 32 year old brother passed away from cancer last Thanksgiving; his death shook the whole equilibrium of our family. Stay strong, your mother was an amazing woman, as you are. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.
Dear Jennifer, you have so many people praying for you and your dear family. I hope that all of your wonderful memories of your dear Mother will continue to comfort you and your family during this time. You are such a strong woman. Smile and laugh through your tears and know that your Mom will always be with you.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this hard time. It was always great to hear your mom call in and hear your love and dedication to her and the rest of your family that you have. I know she will truly be missed.
Irish_425 – there may be worse things than losing a parent, being abused by a parent for 15 years, watching your child die of illness, having a child going missing, dying while you have small children and worrying about what will happen to them… Losing anyone is hard – but let’s not “measure” what is worse and what isn’t.
Jenny
My heart is aching for you. Cocoon yourself with your family and let them love you. Keep your mothers memory alive by talking and sharing and then passing on her gifts to your own children.
Jenny – I’m so so sorry to hear about your mother. I cannot even imagine how you are feeling right now. There’s a poem I hope you will read titled “Do not stand at my grave and weep” by Mary Frye. I read it everytime I miss my grandmother and it really does help me. Know that you are in my thoughts. All my love-Dedra
My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Death is always hard to accept but nonetheless time will heal the emptiness and memories will always be there.
Take care of yourself and your family.
Your kids will bring you so much joy and help you overcome the sorrow.
Jennifer, losing a parent is hard and I am praying for you and your family. It sounded like your Mom was a wonderful person. You and your childeren can carry on her beautifulness.
Jennifer and family. I have prayed everyday for your mother and I hope she is at peace now. I think she was at peace through her ordeal because of a great family like yours. I pray that you stay strong and know that you will get through this. Remember all the good times you had with your mother and cherish them always.
what a beautiful happy picture you took of your mom. Remember the good times for now. Sort the other memories out later to her little quirkiness.
Hugs to you and yours Jen.

Jennifer, I am so sorry for your loss. What a horrible thing to go through. My prayers are with you and your family. Your mother is so beautiful in this picture! You can see her personality shining through her smile! I’m sure you have so many treasured memories with her. I hope you can draw on these to stay strong for your family.
my sincerest sympathies to you and your family. I lost my dad suddenly when he was 52 years old. it’s been over nine years now and it is something that never goes away. i know it seems hard to consider at the moment but you have all your memories and you were truly gifted to have her as your mom. your love for her was always obvious from listening to the show. please stay strong and hang in there. wishing you the best.
Jennifer, I don’t have any special words that can help you through this. Just know your listner friends are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Remember all the good times. We love you.
My thoughts are with you and your family. Yesterday when I heard the replay of the show, I had a feeling that your mother’s condition has worsened, and when I opened your blog, I saw the sad news. You have your mother’s smile.
jen, i am crying for you. She is happy now, free of pain. Try to think of that. She suffered and now it’s over. Please know all of us love you and are praying for you and your family.
My wonderful Dad left us on July 8, 2002 . Cancer was the cause. We played clarinet together in many bands. I could not touch the instrument for several years after his passing, but now play it for my grandchildren. Their delight in the music is evident of his spirit around us, keeping time and laughing with them with his bright blue eyes. I talk to him silently every day, and thank him for all that he taught me. I wish for you to eventually discover a vehicle to deal with your pain and the glorious memories of the wonder of her life.

Dear dear ((((Jenn)))),
I feel so deeply for your loss. Please find time to embrass a quieter, more gentle side at this time. Please let some peace find you. When I lost my mom I realized that even though she was “gone”, her love was still, and always has been with me. Your mom is now at peace and at least she isn’t suffering anymore. In time you will heal. Just find that quite space within yourself.
Jennifer- I was deeply saddened to learn about your Mother. I know the pain and anger you feel and would be happy to talk to you if and when you are ready. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Love,
Jen
Jennifer, you and your family are in my prayers- I hope you will find peace in your heart even without acceptance. Your mother is blessed to have such a wonderful daughter to carry on her legacy.
what a lovely photo of your mom! Her grace and beauty will live on in spirit in all of you. As you go through the coming days just keep in mind that now she is no longer suffering. It will be hard, but you and your family are strong and will make it through as you lean on one another. God bless you all.
My sincere condolences to you and your family on this loss.
I lost my Daddy to cancer in November and I do not have any words of wisdom to get you through. Just know that your Mom knew how very much you loved her and try to find a way to be relieved she isnt suffering.I miss my Dad everyday..I cry..spend time in the shower just weeping so no one else will see me…but I think of the reverse side of it..having him here still suffering and my heart aches just a little less knowing he is resting in comfort now.
Give yourself the time to feel your emotions and know that alot of people are sending you strength right now.
Once again..I am so sorry.
Words just aren’t enough to convey how I feel for you and your family. You are fortunate that you have so many happy times to look back on. I can see wher eyou get your class and sass. You have your moms smile.
My deepest condolences to you and you family. You have been on my mind every single day for the past couple of weeks.
Stay strong. You are loved by so many people.
Jennifer, I was so sorry to see this posting…
Your mother was beautiful and you & your sister both look so much like her.
I am so sorry for your entire family’s loss.
Jennifer, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. You have my deepest symoathy. I have lost a beloved parent too, and far too young as well, and I know how devestating this is.
Jennifer,
I had been following your mother’s fight and am so sad to hear that the bitch won. Bitch is my name for cancer..it took my mom three years ago. My thoughts are with you and your family. nat
There are no words…………..been there…………her love will see you thru, her wisdom and words will keep coming to you, her presence you will feel in the silence and in quiet places. Love has no boundaries, even death can not separate you both……my thoughts & prayers.
Jennifer my heart goes out to you and your family. Bunny taught you to be a smart, lovely woman who can laugh at life and bring happiness to A LOT of people. You are a wonderful mother just like Bunny was, you are her legacy, keep up the great work!

How beautiful and regal your Mom was. I loved when Bunny would call into the show and you’d have that wonderful casual Mother-Daughter type conversation that only can exist between a mother and her female offspring. Hold on to your memories they will serve you well durning this very hard time. God bless Bunny and you and your family
Jennifer – so sorry for your whole family but so happy you had her. She is beautiful and looks like a mixture of you and your sister. She was a bunny warrior through and through.
jen, I can’t get that pic of your mom out of my mind. But I thought of something… when you are ready, I think all the listeners would LOVE for you to post your mom’s favorite recipes and/or your mom’s favorite ANYTHING on your blog. It’s a way to keep her memory going and going and going. If this is not a good idea, please don’t blast me. Thanks.
((((Jennifer)))) My heart is breaking…tears are flowing…I’m at a loss for words. My love, prayers and thoughts are with you and your family; especially Bunny. I’m so heartsick over this. I wish this ended differently. I PRAYED for a miracle. Your Mom is in a better place, looking down on ALL of you with SO much love and gratitude. You, and Stacy are EXCEPTIONAL daughters, and Brian a caring son. You brought more joy and love to your Mom’s life than most people will ever know, or could hope to have. You were there, willing the impossible to happen. You fought the fight for her and THAT alone was a great comfort to your Mom. Jennifer, your Mom lives on in you! I look at her dear face and I know where you got your sunshine smile. May God bring you and your family great comfort. I will NEVER forget Bunny or the incredible love and devotion your family showered on her and one another. Big HUG to Charlie! Hugs to all!
Much Love,
Dresden
Here are some lyrics to one of my most favorite songs (Here by the Window) by Miranda Lee Richards. I thought about these lyrics all the time after my grandpa passed away last year.
It was here by the window
I saw the truth outside today
Beyond the walls that kept on closing
The ones that took my breath away.
So I go uncovered
Yeah I step out in the rain
‘Cause I was waiting for life to happen
Instead of living it each day…
Way up on the shelf I can rest my wings,
and that’s where you’ll find me
I cannot explain, so much higher than me
And that’s where I’ll be
uh huh.
So I grow a bit restless
My Patience is slowing me down
I put to rest old habits
And I awaken what sleeps I’ve been waiting round…
Way up on this the shelf I can rest my wings,
and that’s where you’ll find me
Out of harms way, so much higher than me
And that’s where I’ll be
uh huh
Yeah I wanna shine shine shine
Ooh I wanna shine shine shine
I’m gonna learn how to fly
Oh, learn how to fly
Jennifer, I never have commented but have been listening to your show since the beginning. I am so sorry for your loss, I loved hearing your relationship with your mother on the air I love how close the two of you are. I can’t even imagine the pain you must be feeling but hope you take comfort in the fact that the love you both have for each other will live on forever
Again my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Yes, I agree with everyone the pix of Bunny is beautiful you can just see/fee her spunky character through the picture. All my love to you and your family.
What a nice picture you took of Bunny. I am so sorry to hear the news. My heart goes out to you and your entire family. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time
Jennifer – your loss is catastrophic. I have been in your shoes. It is a horrible club to be a member of. I don’t want to be a member. I am sure you don’t either. Don’t be afraid to seek help sorting all the emotions. Grief takes a physical toll on your body. Ask for help. And let others love you and care for you. My thoughts are with you and your family. xo
I am so sorry for your loss, nothing anyone says can help you right now, just remember she is always with you now and always, and she is at peace. You will have your special alone moments to talk to her, these times are the best times for you, as I have found out myself when I lost my Mom.
Jennifer I am so sorry for your loss… I lost my mom in 1996 to lung cancer. I watched the cancer ravage her body and prayed for a miracle to save her. In her final days I found myself praying to God to take her and end her misery and suffering.
Also, you did a wonderful job of holding it together and doing the show. All of your listeners knew you really wanted to be with your mom but yet you still found it in your heart to entertain us with your excellent sense of humor.
Jennifer-So sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed hearing Bunny when she called into the show. My father died in 1999 when I was 22. It never is easy, but it does get easier with time. Your mommy will live in you and your kids and your family. Take care.
Jennifer – We’re all with you at this trying time. Thank you for posting the beautiful photo of your mom – you have her smile. Know that her love and laughter will live on in you. Thoughts and prayers go out to your dad and the rest of your family. xoxox
Thank you for sharing your story with each of us. I truly can’t imagine what you are going through. But, if it’s any consultation, I know two people who are in a very similar situation. You have helped them feel a little less alone.
My thoughts are with you. Thanks for being beautiful.
May your mom rest in peace, remember that she is in no more pain and suffering and remember that one day you will meet again. My thoughts are with you and your family and my deepest sympathy….. Nurse Jeff

Jennifer – everyday I’ve checked this site prayering that I would not see this message and that your Mom was winning the battle. I am so sorry for your loss. I have enjoyed hearing your Mom’s calls into the show over the past 2 years – she will be truly missed. You and your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Jennifer, I am deeply saddened to hear about your loss. Your mother was a beautiful woman who raised a beautiful family. I know you will support each other in this time of loss.
As I write this, I *hear* Alexis commenting – “how can you feel so bad? you don’t even know her!” — but I do . . .I, and countless others on here, don’t know you or your precious mother, except for all that you both have shared on the show. But that is indeed enough, that I find true sadness in my heart for your loss. And I wish you and your family peace and healing as you go through this difficult time.
Oh Jennifer….I am so, so sorry for the tremendous loss of your sweet Mother. Her beauty and grace shine through in this photograph. I see you in her warm smile. Love and peace to you and your family during these most difficult times that are sure to be ahead. There is no right way to grieve. Do it however you need to. We love you!
Jennifer,
I am truly sorry for your loss. You, your family, and Bunny have been in my thougts and prayers daily over the past few weeks. I know that this is a very difficult time but please remember all the happy times and the wonderful way your mother raised you, she will always be a part of you and your children.
God Bless.
Jennifer, I am so sorry for your loss. I, too, lost my mother to pancreatic cancer. It was easily the worst time of my life. I can’t say that life ever returns to normal, you gain a “new normal.” Life does go on, but never the same. It’s a chronic angst, that anxious/impending doom feeling I used to get when I was a kid when I knew that my mom would not be at home, waiting for me after school. Yes, I know I am old enough to stay alone, but I still need my mother. So, Jennifer, I would encourage you in your enviable position and with your beloved mother, so dear to so many, to add another “Bunny legacy” other than the precious family she and your dad created: “The Bunny K. Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.” You can write a book, detailing your journey, adding the many kind and brilliant insights offered from your many friends and complete strangers, who, also have trod the path of pancreatic cancer, a horrid disease that affects far too many loved ones. The proceeds of this book could fund the foundation. We are human: God is good all the time, just sometimes, we wonder if He got His timing messed up. And that, too, is part of the grief. Somethings we won’t understand until we arrive at that “better place” where I know my mom and yours will be the first to greet us “home.” Sincerely, Pam
When I head the re-run yesterday my heart just sank. For those newbie listeners who have only heard of Bunny’s phone calls I wish the producers could put together a tribute show for her … if it doesn’t make Jennifer too sad.
Jennifer, I am so sorry for your loss. Of course, words do not take away the excruciating pain you feel at this time, but, at least you should know that so many of us are keeping you and your mom in our prayers. Somehow, someway, you will be able to continue to live your life no matter how difficult or surreal everything seems to be right now. I was extremely close with my mom too and it’s difficult to even right down these words now (2 years later) but it still feels surreal to me and you have to remember that she will always be watching you and trying to give you support and strength. Also remember she will always be in your heart and the memories you have will remain with you FOREVER.
Jennifer…my heart breaks for you and your family. Please know warm thoughts are with you and prayers are being said. Keep your memories close to get you through this extremely difficult time.
My heart hurts for you and your family. You bring so much joy and laughter into my life,,, I wish there was away to save to you from this pain. That is a beautiful picture of your Mom. Thank you for sharing it with all of us. I am so grateful that you for all raw emotions that you share so openly with us.
May that beautiful smile continue to light the way as you grieve your mothers loss. She seemed to touch everyone she met and no doubt was the epicenter of your family.
I wish you and your family all the best and may her special unique qualities that made her who she was continue to live within each of you and give you strength.
Jennifer, I am sorry for the loss of your mother. My prayers are with you and your family at this time. I know that you and your family will cherish her love forever and that will always be with you.
I’m truly sorry for what you’re going through. I’ll pray that you and your family to find the strength to get through this. Thank you for opening up and sharing your family’s struggle with us. I hope all your happy memories of your mother will ease your pain.
Jennifer- My heart hurts for you and I know that no words can make anything better now. But your strength throughout this has been inspirational. Stay strong…
Just a note to let you know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this challenging time. Remember that everytime you think of your mom, she is right there beside you. Looking at a picture of her beautiful smile and all of your memories will let you know that she is always in your heart.
Jenny-what a wonderful picture of your mother. I only “know” her from what you have said and what others have written about her, I know she was a wonderful person who raised a terrific daughter, she loved her family and friends. I am thinking about you and praying for strength for you.
GREAT PIC…you’re in all our thoughts…sorry for your loss…unfortunately, as painful as it is, this horrible process is what makes us who we are and truly brings us into our lives as adults…very sorry
Jen: I am so sorry. When tragedy or hardship comes your way, remember that your heavenly Father is in control of all that happens to you. He will provide exactly what you need, when you need it. God Bless!
My sympathy, Jennifer, there is no pain or loss like that of your Mom. You think your Mom will always be there for you, and when she isn’t it is literally a pain in your heart.
Look around for your Mom, she will be there. If you don’t see a sign from her, you will feel her presence.
Jennifer, Bunny was a treasure and so are you. If there is a blessing in all of this it is that your beloved mother is no longer a prisoner of her earthly body and is now free in ways only she knows. All my love to you and your family. My thoughts to your dad. xoxoox
I am so sorry to read about the loss of your mother, though I don’t know her or you on a personal level I like to think we share one thing in common, a love of family. Know that while your wonderful, loving Mother is no longer here in the flesh her pain is gone and she will remain in your heart and your childrens smiles for generations.
Peace and love during this very hard journey.
So Sorry Jenn, know what you’re going through, lost my dad several years ago to color cancer. I just know how I felt, and was glad that my dad was not suffering any longer. Thinking of you and your family.
I am writing to extend my deepest sympathies to you and your family on the recent passing of your mother. You were truly fortunate to have a wonderful woman in your life.
I’ve never left a comment before. But I wanted to tell you I’m sorry. It will take a long time to get to Acceptance. Just allow yourself to feel and don’t try to get there too fast. It is ok.
My deepest regrets. The memory of being beloved with transcend your loss. This author said it so eloquently. It’s clear from your devotion and love shared this applies to your mum:
And did you get what you wanted from this life, even so?
I did.
And what did you want?
To call myself beloved, to feel myself
beloved on the earth.
I listen to your show every weekday and read your blogs on a daily basis. When I didn’t hear the show live on Tuesday, my heart sank. Jennifer, please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I think that you need to take as much time as you feel is necessary to deal with your grief. I couldn’t believe it when you said some listeners said you were selfish and making this all about yourself. I think everyone deals with painful situations on an individual basis and you were amazingly brave to be on the air these last few weeks. Please take care!
oh jennifer…so,so sorry to hear about your mom.
take as long as you need to grieve…there are no rules..
when my father died i couldn’t believe that the tears would ever end…
but it does get easier with time, i promise…
be gentle with yourself…
your tears will eventually turn to smiles as you recall all the wonderful memories of your mom.
you were a wonderful daughter…
just know that all your listeners will all be there to pick you up when you get back…
((((((hugs))))))))
Many prayers to you and your family. Bunny looks beautiful and elegant, as she was i am sure. At last she is in Heaven, painfree and always looking down on you and your family, never forget her spirit will always surround you, she is always in your company, if only in spirit. God Bless.
I received my Sirius radio for Mother’s Day and LOVE listening to you. You had a special relationship with your Mom. Consider yourself one of the lucky ones. Your Mother will live on in your life and the lives of your children. When someone spreads love like she did it reaches generations. Never forget the values that she taught you. My sympathies for your huge loss. No, it’s not fair.

Jennifer and Family, so sorry for this tremendous loss. I was always happy when Bunny called in to the show. Just from those few minutes, I could hear from her voice and her sense of humor, that she was a lovely woman with much wisdom. In the coming weeks, I hope that all of the memories you and your family have created through the years that you had Bunny will give you some peace. love to you all.
My heart aches for you and your family.
Found this poem on comfortingyou.org:
A million times we needed you,
A million times we cried,
If love alone would have saved you,
You would of never died.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still,
In our hearts you hold a place,
No one can ever fill.
Jennifer – all my sympathies to you and your family during this sad time. I’m glad you are surrounded by your family and friends. Looking forward to hearing you on my way home from work soon!
When I was driving home Tuesday and heard the March broadcast, I just knew. I was traveling to North NJ for the memorial of my friend’s mother on Wednesday, so that is why my message is late to you. Jennifer, I wish I could ease your sorrow, I do know what you are going through. Heaven has a new flower with the passing of your Bunny. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Yes, do give yourself time to grieve. You will always be showered with the love that your Mother had for you, it will be difficult now and it will ease with time, but you will have your moments. Remember this is normal. You are in so many people’s thoughts and prayers. Take good care, and I wish I could do something.Know that my heart aches for you.
Friendship, love & thoughts, Cecilia
I know your heart is breaking right in half but life will go on and for a while you will look at others having fun and wonder where any JOY is but it will come back…it will take some time but it will return.
God bless you and your family, your Mom was a good Mom…what a wonderful legacy to leave behind!
Jennifer,
My thoughts are with you and your family. I lost my dad a year ago in May- he had been ill, but we were in no way expecting him to die when he did. The hardest part for me was the silence I felt when I knew he was gone-as if a part of me that was his voice had been stilled-I wasn’t expecting that feeling and it wasn’t easy to communicate this to my friends and family. But, i continue to focus on his time with my daughter and the happiness that being a dad and a grandad brought him. I hope that you can do the same and wish you boatloads of strength and resilience to get through this tough time.
We all look forward to having you back on the air and hope you feel all the love and support that this community has for you and your family.
Jennifer:
This is my first time to post;however, I have listened to you and Alexis every day and read the blogs. I feel like I know you and your family. No words can ease the pain of the loss of your mother. When I saw Bunny’s photo when I logged on today, I was too praying for a miracle and hoping that there was not a date to follow after her date of birth. Cherish the memories of your wonderful mother.
Dear Jennifer, I’m a loyal listener and I can’t express how deeply sorry I am for your loss. I know that I can’t do anything to help you now, but I had a thought and I hope it’s okay with you, (because I’ve already done it). I wrote out a donation to our local Hospice in your mothers name.
If is’t okay with you I would like to invite the rest of your fans to do the same thing.
Nothing I can say can make it better. The fact that it is so devastating is a sign that she was a joyful wonderful part of your life! That’s something to be thankful for. Live in the moment-love her while she’s with you. Cry like hell when she’s gone. Drink a lot and go bust out someone’s car windows. Do whatever it takes. You’ll get there kid.
Dear Jennifer, I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful picture of a beautiful Mother. One day you will be able to remember only the smiles and laughter she left you with and your heart will smile again. I know exactly how you are feeling today. G-d bless you.
I wish people would stop saying “It never gets easier” to you. No great loss is easy to bear. But the crushing pain you’re feeling right now will lift in time. Life goes on. It MUST go on. The living honor the dead by continuing to live. There is strength in your voice…I have no doubt you will be OK.
Jennifer,
You and your family have my thoughts and prayers. You can rest assured that she is not suffering anymore and is at peace. I am so sorry for your loss. She will be alive in you and your family.
xoxo
My heart goes out you and your family…it’s a huge loss. I understand what you are going through, as I lost my Mom, I was 38 and she was 64 and from cancer…very similar. I know you are living in a fog right now and your heart is broken…like a bad dream. Take time, it will pass, and hold on to your memories…they will help you through.
jennifer – please accept my sincere and heartfelt condolences to you. the very word ‘cancer’ is just so cold, depressing, and unforgiving – whether the battle against it is won or lost – all families who experience it, experience it TOGETHER. please don’t forget the wonderful and supportive people that surround you and use them as you need to – get angry, cry, laugh, tell great stories about your amazing mother, whatever it takes to get you through this. never forget to keep on talking about your mom and keeping her spirit alive through all your memories.
I am so sorry for your loss. I am lifting your family up in prayer right now. I pray that God will send comfort to you and your family during this time.
Hi Jennifer,
Sort of came by this blog by accident. But there really are not “accidents” in life are there? Your July 7 writing touched me very deeply. As a daughter, and as a mother of 2 girls. Whatever you do is OK! How you feel is OK. There are all kinds of books about grief, but if they are only guides. Help us know kind of what may happen at some point. We are all so different. I pray that you will find what you need to help you. That maybe someone will come up with a crude joke that makes you laugh with tears rolling down your cheeks. Take care and stay strong-or don’t be strong because whatever you feel is right. Your mama was an elegant woman wasn’t she? Anyone that will wear long white gloves and those great sunglasses must have had the right outlook on life.
I hope that you will find a little joy in small things until you can find a little peace in your heart.
I am so very sorry for your tragic loss. Your mother sounded like a wonderful woman and your love for her was evident. You are lucky to have had a great mother with whom you enjoyed such a special bond. We lost my husband’s father to pancreatic cancer 10 years ago. He was 65. We miss him every day but his spirit lives on in his children and his grandchildren.
Jennifer, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. There just are not words to write on a blog that express the sorrow I feel for you and your entire family.
I lost my Father several years back in an automobile accident, he was hit from the rear, it broke his neck, he lived for 12 days. Nothing has been the same since. Yes life goes on, but I miss him every day and wonder what today would be like were he still here.
I do not cry every day now, so the [ain does ease but the emptiness does not go away.
Love every moment you had with her and love the fact that you know how much she loved you…that will never, ever change!
Dear Jennifer-
I am so so sorry for your loss. Bunny seemed like an incredible woman. I can’t imagine what you are going through. Please know that my thoughts, prayers and warmth go out to you and your family. Wishing you all the best with a terrible situation. May memories keep you smiling and offer you some comfort. -Love, Beth
jennifer, so sorry for your loss and the sadness you are feeling. I lost my dad last year to cancer, and yes, CANCER SUCKS! Hope you are doing well. I am thinking about you and your family.
F*CK, I’m SO sorry, so sorry, so sorry.
Do not blame yourself, spend the time loving her memory and know that because of her you are a great mom, and you will be a great gramma, and your kids will have loving memories of her.
I don’t know what’s worse, losing a fab mom/gramma or never having decent or loving ones in the first place.
Jennifer, your loss saddens me so much and I’m so very, very deeply sorry to hear about your mother. That’s such a beautiful photo of you mom – she looks so regal. It sounds like you had such a special relationship with her and I really enjoyed the shows when she would call in and comment. My sympathy to you and your family.
Jennifer, just remember that you will continue to feel your mother’s presence, even if you don’t believe that today. A fleeting glance in the mirror and you will see her in your face, an expression or comment made by one of your children. Keep her memory alive through photographs and stories. I remember when my father’s mother died, she said “don’t mourn, just remember me often”. Then when my father died suddenly at a young age, I realized that it was only through the photos and stories of remembering him often that my children (not born yet) would ever have any knowledge or relationship with him. The depth of the love you have for your mother and the depth of the love she had for you will never change. She wants you to be happy, move on and remember her often!
Jennifer, one hour at a time, one minute at a time. I have been through this, could barley catch my breath. In time, you will smile when you think of her instead of crying. May her memory be a blessing. She will be near you, I promise.
I hope that you are comforted by the hundreds of messages that you have received from those of us who feel that we ‘know’ you. We are feeling your sorrow and searching for a way to lessen it, just a little bit.
Jennifer, I am so sorry to hear of your loss, no one can really understand what you are going through since losing someone you love is different for everyone. My thoughts are with you, go ahead and feel sorry for yourself and your family you deserve it, just know one day you will wake up and not feel sorry for yourself anymore instead you’ll feel sorry for the people who never had a chance to know your remarkable mother, Bunny. May see rest in peace now and never feel pain again.
Jennifer, I am so very sorry about your mother. But she is still with you in your heart. Take care and know people are praying for you and thinking of you.
I am so sorry, Jennifer. My mother died suddenly at the age of 70, 16 years ago, and I still miss her very much. But you are blessed in having loving family and friends around you at this very difficult time, and together you will transition to a new time in your life. The loss of a mother (especially one so young) is one of the deepest, but you carry her love for you on in your love for your children, and you will find comfort in that. My deepest sympathy goes out to you.
a quote from Maya Angelou….”it is healthy and honorable to weep at the loss of someone we love. Healthy because such passion must be released. Honorable because it is respectful to admit the importance of people who have loved and supported us….PEOPLE WHOSE FOOTPRINTS CANNOT EVER BE MATCHED.” I extend my sincere sympathies to you and your family
Oh Jennifer….I am so sorry. Take care of yourself and your family…
For some reason, when my father died and nothing anyone said could explain or make it better, it helped me to sit in nature and listen to birdsong…I pray that you are able to fill your broken heart with birdsong during these dark days.
Jennifer, I am so sorry.. She was to young. I am just like you.Same religion.. what you said about not being able to talk to your mother every morning is my exacet fear. When I read that I broke down. When the show was a repeat the last couple days I knew? I had to check the website I needed to know? You are a very strong person.. Your mother was beautiful in that picture. so Chic & Classy & so are you!
Jennifer, I will not pretend to know how you feel this loss. I don’t know that bad things happen for a reason, I just know that they happen. You have the strength to go on for your children and family. I can’t make sense of it, but I am truly sorry.
You seem like a dear person and your mother must have been so proud of you. It’s hard to believe it, but you will cry a little less and one day laugh again. Then you will know she is with you.
May you find strength and peace in knowing your mother is no longer suffering. Your post said you can “no longer speak to her every morning.” ALWAYS speak to her Jennifer…..she is forever listening. God bless you and your family.
Jennifer-I am so sorry..Many tears are cascading down cheeks around the world when learning of Bunny. You and your family are in our special thoughts during this time…as you say…xoxoxoxo
Jennifer,
My thoughts are with you and your family. Your Mom was blessed to have all of you. I hope that you can heal, and return to the show soon. It’s just not the same without you. I even missed your singing today (well, almost).
Alexis gave us a gift today by coming in and giving us that auditory connection we are missing, especially due to the circumstances. And what she said about being there and you not being there was said with such honesty that it is a testament to your relationship. It was pretty cool. Miss you.
Glad to see how many posts Jen has got for this entry. It doesn’t make the pain go down any easier I’m sure but I’m glad to see she has so much support during this whole thing.
I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. She was much too young. I lost my mom about 5 years ago and she had just turned 70 years old. I felt cheated as your probably do too. You and your family are in my prayers.
Your mother always sounded like a fun, loving person. A “hoot” as some would say. There will be blue days ahead, but always remember, you have her DNA. She is there in you. Death can not take that away.
Jennifer,
I lost my mother a few months ago and we will never forget our mothers or truly understand why they passed at such an early age. All I know is that we will see our mothers in heaven and they wouldn’t want us to be sad because they are in a wonderful place celebrating with God right now.
What a beautiful and classy lady, with such a contagious smile! May her spirit, her smile and her warmth continue to light the way for all those who loved and and warm your heart. She is no longer suffering and is at peace looking down upon all of you, she is right there for you every step, continue to make this wonderful woman that was your mom proud and you will continue to make her smile.
My thoughts are with you and your family. You are a loving daughter and you made your mom so very proud. Your strength and family will get you through this. As a loyal and loving listener I’m anxious for your return. I listen on the ‘rerun shift’ so I don’t get to call in and tell you what a wonderful program you and Alexis have. I love you guys!!!
Hey Jennifer…I’m so sorry for you and your family. Your Mom was a funny lady! Thank you for sharing your world with us the past few years on the radio and allowing us to get to know Bunny. You are in my prayers.
hi Jennifer, don’t know you and unfortunately do not have Serious radio but wanted to say my thoughts are with you at this time. My parents have health issues now and i know how debilitating the struggle can be during illness and not knowing whats next…. can not even imagine what it is like for you rite now. the only thought for solace i can say is try to think that she did have a good and full life and got to raise her children and even see her grandchildren. AND that she would not want you do be sick and sad over her, just love her and carry her thoughts into the future with you. just imagine how you would want your children to feel when you go…. sorry i could not read through the responses so i prob wrote what others have… hang in there and concentrate on all the good things you still have to do in your life. take care.
I am so very sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine what this must feel like for you. I hope your mom wasn’t in too much pain. At least now she is at peace.
What a wonderful picture! I can see the vibrancy in your Mom. I know you will miss her so much. You WILL be able to speak to your Mom…in your heart. She will be a constant in your thoughts; she will comfort you and will always be a part of you.
Jennifer, lets make t-shirts that read, “Cancer is an ASSHOLE!” I give you full privilege to use my idea, which is an idea after hearing of Tony Snow’s death. Oh brother he too was “one of the great ones.” God Bless xo SNB
I am so sorry for your loss Jennifer. I loved when Bunny called into the show, she seemed like a wonderful person. Deepest sympathy to you and your family in this time of sorrow.
Jennifer, I am very sorry to hear about your mom. My thoughts are with you and your family. Make her live on through stories and pictures to your kids and their children.
i too lost my mother ..at the age of 47 to cancer..i hate to use cliche’s but some ring true..only time has helped to heal the wounds..You never really accept or understand it you just learn to live with it..Its so obvious listening to your radio show how much your mom meant to you..You are so lucky to have had those years with her and now she lives on in you and your children..god bless..
Oh, Jen, I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful mom. She will always live on in you and your children. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
My thoughts aand prayers are with you and your family. I am so sorry for your loss. I”m glad to have known your mother, even if it was just through the radio show. She seemed like a terrific person.
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. I lost my mother to cancer just a few days before this past Christmas, at the age of 59. It is a tough road to travel, but with the support of your family and friends, it will get better over time. Don’t rush it. You will have good days and bad days. Take them as they come, one day at a time. Embrace the wonderful memories you have of her. I’m certain she was very proud of the woman you have become, and would want you to celebrate her life, not dwell on the ending.
My prayers are with you and your family.
I lost my wonderful Mom to cancer 14 years ago and I truly understand what you are going through. Time will heal, but until then, be good to yourself, spend time with your kids and let your husband hold you and help you through this. Take care and remember that there are so many who care about you and who are keeping you in prayer.
I can see you in her. How nice it is that you can carry so much of your mother with you and pass to your kids and their kids. I am so sorry for the pain you are feeling. Keep familiar close to you…..hoping you can find peace in the coming days.
I lost my Mom when I was 31 (she was 53). That was 16 years ago. I miss her and always will. I am so sorry for your loss. Remember that she will always be a light in your heart even when you just want to sit and cry. Just cry when you wanna…and know that even the strangers that listen to your show are sending prayers, good wishes, and lots of food to Shiva. A listener who thinks you both ROCK.
my thoughts are with you and your family. i really don’t know what to say. i guess because i know nothing will make things better. take care of yourself and your family.
What a wonderful picture of Bunny! Love and prayers to you and your family. Your love and closeness with each other will guide you through these tough times. God Bless you all!!
I am so sorry for your loss. Even though I had lost both of my parents by the time I was 24 years old(now 42), I can’t imagine what you are feeling. Please know that there are many people that love you and wish you love and peace. I always enjoyed when she called in to the show…..so as you see she is known by many…and will live on because of you, your family and her friends.
I am sorry for your loss. I’m am at a loss for words of of what to say to comfort you through this trying time. I too lost one of the closest people to me, my mommy, November of 2005. I still can’t believe my mom was here one second and gone the next. I listen to you and Alexis everyday at work and although I don’t always agree with you guys, you girls crack me up so much that I blurt out laughing to the point where my co-workers get annoyed at me. Please take care of yourself and take it day to day.
Jennifer,
I am so sorry. Today marks the 9th anniversary of my dad’s death from cancer. Please know that with time the pain that you feel will be replaced by all of your fond memories of her. There will never be anything to fill the void of losing your parent, but take strength from all of those around you that love you and loved your mother as you did. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Jennifer, my deepest sympathies to you and your family during this very difficult time. I am so sorry, but I do believe your mom is in a better place. If theirs anything I can do for you or your family please don’t hesitate to e-mail me (you know who I am. All my best to you. Hang in there Jennifer, in time things will get better for you but it ‘s just that time. Amy
Your mother’s face beams goodness and not mention fashion obsessed. 🙂 I’m so sorry for your loss Jennifer. May peace be with her and your family. God Bless.
What a gracious looking mom you have Jennifer! She seems like a very amazing woman, and I am so sorry that she and you and your family had to go thru this. My thoughts are with you all…… Matt
Thank you for sharing your loss. I was franticly thinking about you and your mother and what could have happened as I thought. Again Jennifer, I am so sorry for your loss. Amy
I am so sorry for your loss. The loss of a parent is so upsetting. The next few days and weeks will be a whirlwind, but you’ll make it through. Keep putting one foot in front of the other, stay close to your family and support and love one another. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I am so sorry.
Jenn, how sorry I am for your loss. Your mother sounded like a great lady-she lives on in your spirit. Take time to be with your loved ones and cherish your mother through them. Grieve, take care of yourself and know how loved you are.
You and your Mom and family were on my mind all night last night. I couldn’t sleep. Pancreatic Cancer took my Mom from me August 2, 1998. She was 61. I’m so so so sorry. She loved you and she was loved. That’s all that matters now.
Oh, Jen – I am SO sorry to hear about this! I thought this might be the case when I heard the rerun show today. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers as you get through this difficult time…bless you and your family!
I am so sorry for your loss. I have been following the story online even though I’m not a Sirius subscriber. I hope you and your family can breathe through this pain and find moments of peace and comfort in the coming days.
Now your mother is at peace and her pain is gone. I know you know that, but try to keep it in mind even though your heart is broken. Your mother will never really leave you. She will always be in your heart. You’ll even sometimes hear her in your head. I know it sounds strange, my dad’s been gone five years now and I can still hear in my head they ways he’d say hello when I would call every morning. Daddy never said hello, it was a very loud “yellow”. Hang in there for the next few days. Just remember how special you are, how much you’re loved but especially how much you were loved by your mother. My prayers are with you. God bless you and your family.
Jennifer, I am so very sorry for your loss. I understand all that you’re feeling, have been there. Your mother will live on in all of her children forever. I’m so very heartbroken for all of you. It will take a long time, but eventually the pain lessens and there will be brigthness in life again. God love you, honey. WIll continue to keep you in my prayers.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I knew something was wrong when you guys were not on today. I pray for strength and comfort for you and your family. Jennifer you have been so strong and brave and your listeners are here to help in anyway. God Bless you.
Jennifer-I am so,so,so sorry. You will remember her in your heart forever. I lost my mom, at 72, to cancer two years ago. It sucks-try to stay strong.
XXOO
I am so sorry to hear of your mothers passing, best wishes to your father and family. I used to enjoy the show when your mom would call in to add clarity on some subject, that she felt need it.Often it added hilarity. She seemed like a great lady. We are all blessed with the time we are given.Love your family. Best wishes.
Jennifer,
I’m so sorry for you and your family. I so hope your family and friends will help you through this. Your mother was a beautiful woman – and thank you for sharing your journey with us. I’m so very sorry for you.
Jennifer, you’re in all our thoughts tonight. Your love for and devotion to your mom are examples for everyone. I hope you, your dad and the rest of your family are as well as can be under the circumstances.
Oh Jennifer, what a precious picture.
May your Mom be at peace now after
her battle. May you all find peace
that you saw her through , the sadness
is great and I’m sure she would want
you to morn and then get back to living
with all the greatness she taught you
and making the most of everyday.
I am sorry for all of you. You are in
my thoughts. xoxo
Jennifer, Jennifer, Jennifer. Oh, that is a lovely picture of your Bunny. I am so sorrowful for you. Thank you for sharing Bunny’s photograph. You are a wonderful daughter.
i am so sorry to hear about your tremendous loss. i don’t know if these words will give you any solace, especially now, but i and countless others who don’t know you and those countless others who do are all thinking of you, your mom, and your family. may your mom rest in peace and may you and yours find peace of mind – and peace through the knowledge that you and she loved each other your whole life and that love will endure forever. although i found [and enjoyed] your blog through martha stewart, this is the first time i’ve commented. it will take a while but you have great strength, and with your family, you will come through the other end even stronger if that’s possible, and with love, love, love.
all the best from my heart to yours,
geri
Prayers for you and your family as you cope with this tremendous loss. It’s hard to lose someone you love, but I think that you love your Mom enough to let her go, so that she suffers no more. When my Dad passed, remembering that his suffering had ended was the only thing that got me through. Wishing you peace.
Oh Jenny I am so very sorry for your loss. I know the pain you are feeling. Take the time to remember her, embrace the memories, share the laughter, the love her life. Your family will make it though. Your fans will be here when you get back. Take as much time as you need.
Jennifer,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I, too, am very close to my mother and truly feel for you. My sympathy to you and your family. What a gorgeous photo of Bunny. Your mother raised a beautiful daughter. xoxo
A beautiful mother that makes sure her family knows how much they mean to her is the most precious thing. All of your stories of your family thru the years have proven that your mother showed her love for her family thru her daily activities. You can also see what kind of person she was by her posterity, look around at your family and see your mother in each of you and she will never be truly gone from you. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Tiffany P.
I am so sorry for you and your family’s loss. Your mother was beautiful and looked as if she was full of life. You have been blessed to have such a wonderful mother. I pray God will hold you in His hands and dry your tears.
~Steph~
My thoughts are with you and your family. My father died from the same disease at 67 years young in 2004. I also just lost my mother to cancer this past december, she was also young like your mother, 66. I know it is hard to believe, but you will get through this.
Jennifer & Family,
My deepest sympathy to you all. I have been praying for you all for weeks. May the memories of Bunny make you smile always. I always loved when she called in 🙂
Take care of yourself Jennifer. We love you!!!
Oh Jennifer,
I’m so sorry about your Mom! You wrote so beautifully about her and this experience. My heart aches for you. I wish you and your family peace.
Oh, Jennifer….I’m so sorry. Sympathy, hugs and tears from here in blog-land. Your recent writing has been amazing.
Your Mom sounded so great–she raised a wonderful daughter (we can tell). Her legacy lives on.
I just read your blog from July 7th and I related to everything you wrote. When my dad was in his last few days, that was everything I went through. It actually brought back a lot of sad memories.
I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my prayers.
You have my deepest sympathy and my thoughts are with you….I won’t tell you trite things like “time will heal” what I will say is go get a really big, strong punching bag and beat the crap out of it…it works for me. Thinking of you…..
Good-bye dear Bunny…Rest in Peace. Jen…there are no words….except I’m so sorry. I never knew your mom, I felt like I did….though your loving sweet spirit. xx
I am sooooo sorry Jennifer! My heart breaks for you! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. My Dad passed away almost 6 years ago. It was the hardest, saddest, most difficult, time of my life. I pray that time, your faith, and the love of your family and friends will comfort you during this difficult, difficult time!
I am so sorry that your mother lost her fight. I googled her today and saw some photos of her online, she has such a spirit about her. I know part of that spirit has found a home in you Jennifer. You will be on my mind tonight.
My heart goes out to you and your family….God bless your beautiful Mum Bunny !!
Remember Jennifer she lives in you and through you-she is with you always just in a different way !!
Do ALL that you need to do to heal-and know that she loves you and will always be in your heart !!!
Your Mother was a true beauty. Your courage and strength during this time is an inspiration for everyone. You make your mother so proud. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Jennifer, I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. Everyday I listen to the show hoping that you’ll be on because I know that means your mom is with you one more day.
I lost my mother three years ago in July. The first year was the hardest – feeling like life should stop. How could the family possibly go on without our mother? How can the world not see that we aren’t ready to go forward? But it doesn’t, life just pushes onward whether you’re ready or not.
If you feel that way, just know that things will get easier with time. Yes, it will be very hard for a long time and there will never be a day when you won’t feel that loss. But one day the good memories will overtake the memories of sickness and sadness and you will begin to feel better.
I wish you and your family all the best during this time.
I am so sorry for your loss, I know what you are feeling. I lost my mom 5 years ago. The pain does ease, but you are going to miss her allot the first year. I found that if I prayed allot and leaned on my faith. You get through this with god. your fist of everything will get hard but as the years go on it is not as painful and you can remember her for her love and laughfter. Dont cirlcle think yourself. YOu have done evrything you could have done. Your mom is out of pain and is in a much better place now. take care and you will have god to lean on and your family
I am so truly saddened by your loss. From the image you posted, and from what you have mentioned and shared on your show, I can clearly tell that your mother was a gracious, caring and loving person.
Oh Jennifer, I’m so sad for you. I’m crying right now. You were a wonderful daughter. I hope you have lots of happy memories to get you through this terrible time. My thoughts will be with you and your family. I’m so, so sorry. Take care.
Oh Dear Sweet Jennifer…Your Mother was a BEAUTIFUL woman-you have her smile! My deepest condolences to you and your family. I’m a sporadic listener due to my many children and their schedules-but I’ve been trying to keep up with you and Bunny for the last few weeks thru the website and the blog. No words can take away your pain, but know that I will hold you and yours in the light…I wish you peace and comfort.
hugs to you and your family… stay strong and support each other during these sad days, like your mother would want you to. i dont know you personally, but because of your show i feel as if i do, and hearing/reading about you living through this and watching your mother slip away has touched me deeply. lots of love and positive thoughts from one long islander to another!
‘THE DASH’ by Linda Ellis: “I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend, he referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning to the end…. He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years… For the dash represents all the time that she spent alive on this Earth, and now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth… For it matters not how much we own; the cars, the house, the cash, what matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash… So think about this long and hard; are there things you’d like to change? For you never know how much time is left that can still be rearranged… If we could just slow down enough to consider what’s true and real, and always try to understand the way other people feel… And be less quick to anger and show appreciation more, and love the people in our lives like we’ve never loved before… If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile, remembering that this special dash might only last a while… So when your eulogy is being read with your life’s actions to rehash, would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent your dash?”. p.s. So sorry for your loss, Jenny.
Dear Jennifer,
What a beautiful woman. Elegant and lovely in the midst of her illness… Your entire family had to fight cancer along side your mother; I see all of you as courageous, especially Bunny, of course. And now, I hope that your entire family will be able to pass through this time of mourning, and emerge with beautiful memories of this wonderful woman to sustain you. My sympathies go out to all of you.
Jen, I am SO SO sorry. I just opened up your blog and was saddened by your news. I wish there was something I could say to make you feel better, but there isn’t. I lost my mom 15 years ago, and a day doesn’t go by that I wish I could call her or see her to share little tidbits about my day or my life. Know that you carry a part of her in you everyday. She looks beautiful and happy in the picture. Remember her that way.
Jennifer, I’m so sorry to learn about your Mom passing. My Dad died two years ago at age 68 of pancreatic cancer. I can tell you right now there isn’t a day that I don’t think about him. It will be hard, but you are stronger than you may realize. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Your mother was a classy lady, the picture says it all. Her smile is beatiful and infectious (did I spell that right?) Bunny is at peace and in no more pain, that’s all anyone can ask for. Jennifer my heart goes out to you and your entire family.
I am so sorry. I spoke with you a few months ago about your mothers elegance. I feel for you. I love my mother so much I can’t imagine what you are going through. I have the labrodoodle, Elizabeth in DE. Your mother was a Standard Poodles in a world of mutts.
oh jennifer, I am so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. God Bless you and your family at this time. i wish i could do or say more to comfort you….
Please don’t post my reply…I’m so sorry…I looked at her picture only…good gosh I’m sorry Jen…may she rest in peace…my deepest condolences to you and your family…very sorry… 🙁
My sincerest regrets for your loss. Be weak, cry, laugh, scream…do whatever you need to do to get through. My thoughts are with you and your family during this terrible time. Bunny is beautiful. Thank you for sharing her spirit with us.
Jennifer, I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. I am also going through a health crisis with my Dad, and understand how helpless it makes you feel. The best thing you can do for her now, is to lead your like in a way that would make her proud, and keep her memory alive for your children. Be comforted in the fact that she is in a better place and is no longer in pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Jennifer
I am so sorry. I can only imagine the pain that you are feeling. Wrap your kids and Dad and Keithie around you and someday, you won’t hurt quite so badly. We all love you.
My condolences to your family. I was born in Brooklyn a month after your mom. So I guess we went through the same world as kids. This has not been a good week. My sister in laws mom passed and my oldest friend (from the 1950’s) Dad passed. I can share the grief you are going through and our thoughts are with you. Your Dad is a great guy and a cool dude in the 60’s. I don’t know what to say but if we ever meet I think we will find we have a lot to talk of. Again my sympathies to you and your family.
Howard
Jennifer, I am so sorry to hear about the death of your Mother. She looks like a beautiful woman and I can tell from the way you speak of her on the radio you were very close. There really is nothing to say that will make you feel any better right now, but just know that a lot of people are thinking about you and wishing you the best during this difficult time. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! and cherish all of those wonderful memories you have with her and your family.
Jennifer….my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. she truly was an amazing woman…we were all very fortunate to have known her through your stories of her and through her calls in to the show. my heart goes out to you and your family :*(
So, so sorry for your loss. Lost my Mom many years ago to cancer and here is what I know… Treasure your memories. Give thanks for the experience of having had her as your Mother. Honor her life by celebrating your own. One day at a time. Take care.
I am so very, very sorry for your loss. I know your mother’s spirit will live on in you, your siblings and children. I pray for your strength during this difficult time.
You cherished your mother and she cherished all of you – that is the greatest gift. The world would be an amazing place if everyone felt cherished. The love of God is within each of our hearts – just remember it and you will know the comfort and peace he offers.
I am so sorry for your loss. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
My heart goes out to you. What a beautiful woman your mother was. It seems you are quite blessed to have known her and to have been in her care. Let go of any regrets you are holding onto. Her spirit will always be there when you need it.
oh no. Jennifer, I am so sorry for you and your family. There are no words that can do justice to what you are going thru right now. My prayers are with you.
My deepest sympathy to you and your family. You have given me the inspiration to make sure that I live everyday to the fullest and tell my mother that I love her everyday.
My deepeset sympathy. I knew something was wrong when the show wasn’t live today. I hope you are doing as well as can be expected. My heart and prayers are with you, Jennifer. God Bless.
Beautiful picture of your mother! Keep that smile she has in your memory forever! My deepest sympathy to you and your family! She hurts no more and she is with you in spirit. She is saying “Weep no more I am free and I will be your angel”.
I am so sorry to read that your mother has passed, please accept my sympathy. She has passed from life and the earth as we know it, but she remains in your heart and soul. You look like your mother look into the mirror, and you will see her.
I stood watching as the little ship sailed out to sea
the setting sun tinted its white sails with the golden light
and as it disappeared from view a voice at my sied whispered, “she is gone”.
But the sea was a narrow one and on the further shore a little band of friends had gathered to watch in happy expectation
suddenly they caught sight of the tiny sail and at the very moment when my companion had whispered “she is gone”
A glad shout shout went up in joyus welcome the thw words
YA HERE SHE COMES
I JUST got a call from my mother telling me that they’ve found a bump in her pancreas and something else in her gallbladder. Oh brother! Another person doesn’t deserve this shit!

I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I been reading your blogs about your mom the past few months and I understand what you are going through and what you will be going through. I lost my dad over a year ago and I had the same feelings as you. I was his caregiver and it took a long time for the grieving process to heal. I miss him dearly but I was with him until the very end. My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family and everyone that knew your mom. I know from experience that she will be watching over you and your family and giving you the strength to move on. Never forget the memories and cherish the legacy she left you.
Jennifer –
You are a great daughter. Your post on the 7th was so touching and heartfelt. May your mom rest in peace. Lots of love to you and your family.
jennifer,
You & your family have been in my thoughts and prayers and will remain there. Take time to mourn your wonderful mother. Take time to miss her. Take time to tell your kids how much she loved them, each day.
I know how much you are hurting and hurt for you.
xoxo.
Words cannot express how sad I am and how much my heart is breaking for you and your family. YOur mother was such a lively, funny woman. We should all feel lucky for having gotten to know her – if only by radio.
I am sending you a huge hug through the web, I only wish you could feel it and it could take away a little of the pain.
Losing a parent is the most horrible feeling in the world, but your Mom is at peace and finally relieved of her pain.
Jennifer, I’m so sorry. My thoughts are with you and I’m terribly sorry for your loss and your sadness. I know it doesn’t seem possible, but you will find the strength to get through this.
Jennifer,
Your mother is beautiful! I can see where you got your good looks!
You have the same smiles.
Keep doing what you are doing. You are such a dear to take such good care of your moom.
This is all such torture. Take good care of yourself and family.
xoxo your fan!
may God heal your hurting family. My prayers are with you. I know there are no words that will make your grieving easier. Take comfort in the thought that there are many, that never knew your mother, that loved her. And in that vein, never “knew” you, but hurt with you and pray that you will find peace and comfort in this most difficult of times. I can’t imagine your grief. I will hug my mother soon.
I’m sure there is nothing that one could say to make this any easier. But I think mourning and sadness is part of the healing process. Just know that there are people out there who have you in their thoughts… and know that even though most people didn’t know your mother, her presence in this world will be missed. My sincere condolences to you and your family.
I am deeply sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with your family. I know I don’t know you, but I am sending you love and support. And I thank you for sharing this very private pain with all of us.
Jennifer I am so sorry. Your mom raised you well. Never forget that she loves you and now you have an angel watching over you. She will still watch your kids grow up from above and I can imagine that she is very grateful for such a fantastic daughter. You were so strong for her and that’s just what she needed. It might be hard right now but now she now feels no pain and she will watch over your family forever. Never forget the good times and try not to think of the bad. Your family is in our prayers.
I’m sorry. The loss of your mother will be so difficult, but you’ll get through it…somehow. I think of my mom everyday…she’s been gone over 3 years. Peace to you are your family.
I was praying and hoping that you would never make this post to your blog. Please know that you and your family are in many people’s thoughts. I hope you are being hugged an awful lot right now.
You have my heart felt sympathies and prayers. You have been through a horrendous time and the Lord decided to take your mother. There are really no words to make this time any less devasting. Please know that there are many people who sympathize with you because they have experienced something similar. I lost my Dad when I was 14 and then my mother when I was 21. It ain’t easy any time and my heart aches for you and your family. Your mother will always live on in her children and it isn’t much comfort now – but I found it to be something to hold onto. Bless you and your loved ones. Darcy Coale
My deepest sympathy to you Jennifer and your entire family. May the beautiful, wonderful memories you have of your Mom comfort you. Her light and joy forever lives on in you and in every life she’s touched.

I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your mother with us. I am certain there are many of your listeners who feel like we knew her and can perhaps carry with us some of her spirit.
Just tapped in and was so sorry to learn of your mother’s passing. I don’t think we are ever truly ready to “fly” without the safety net of our moms no matter how old we are. Wishing you and your family whatever brings you peace at this most difficult time.
Jennifer, I hope you do not mind me sending this, a couple of lines from this are on my Grandmother’s head stone, we found this marked in her Bible after she passed NO MORE CRYING NO MORE PAIN REV:21-4 God Bless and Be With You All xxx
Dear Jennifer
My heart has been bleeding for you and your family. I lost my mother to cancer and I know the feelings that you have blogged about. You have your Mom’s smile what a gift!!! May God bless you and your family!!
I was given the gift (the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life) of speaking at a 19 year olds memorial service, along w/ my best friends service all w/in 9 months of each other. (both unexpected and extremely tragic) Each one had approx. 600-800 people in attendance and I spoke to everyone as I’m going to say to you lovely Jennifer,..In amidst this pain and sorrow can we give ourselves the gift of looking deeper into our relationships and ask the question “How am I doing? Can I love and give love deeper? Can I respond from an authentic place? or am I just reacting?. In the silent private space of our hearts, a healing and renunciation can peak in from the greatness of our gift which is love given outward to those still among us, The two greatest gifts in this human experience we were given is to love and to forgive.
Embody the spirit that which is Bunny, she is still very much here among you in vibration.
P.S. I can’t say enough about Deepak Chopra’s book “Life after Death, the Burden of Proof” for a wonderful insight to your mothers presence now and always.
Jennifer – I just wanted to pass my condolences on to you and your family. Sarah W. said the most beautiful things. And that cow Monica you talked about today – forget about her and her comments. You know what you are doing, and you are dealing with things the best you can. I deeply admire you, no one would have ever known what you have been going through these past months, listening to you on the radio. You are always upbeat and make us all laugh. You are a real person, and you don’t hide yourself, which makes you even more beautiful. Your mother was a beautiful woman. I just love looking at the picture you posted – you can see her spirit and her love of life just looking at her. God Bless. Susan
Your mother sounds like an amazing woman who fought incredibly hard against this horrible disease (I have been fighting cancer since 3-11-03).
May she rest in peace and may G-d help you through this terrible time.
Jennifer, im so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. i cant imagine what it feels like, but unfortunately, im gonna have to face that one day. just thinking about it now scares me. i love the show and wish u the absolute best with u and your family.
Dear Jennifer,
I’m dumbstruck. I’ve been so busy this month, I haven’t had the chance to check the blogs.
Jennifer, I’m just like you. Freak over everything, fear flying, fear everything, worry about losing folks. Still inside all our insecurities we are strong. I think we obsess and talk about all our fear so we CAN rise to the occasion when it’s necessary. Bunny EXPECTS you to handle this, and you will. I don’t believe an energy as vital and present as she was dissipates. I think it changes form and goes on to other adventures, but most of her will reside forever inside your chest, the place where we feel things and know things. We feel older for having no Mother left to comfort us, In not too long a time, you will be able to deal with this loss. You’re no lightweight, Jennifer. You are a champion and you will do what is necessary. After all, YOU are the link between your kids and your Mom and must help your sister, brother and Dad.
She’s free from her pain, but she will never, ever leave you. I promise you that. My Mom’s been gone 14 years. The anger will subside. Care for your family. All of them. Family and dear friends is all we have.
I send you peace. Now, go and do what she would expect you to do. Brian is right….you’ve got a job to do!

there are other eyes watching her coming . . .
and other voices ready to take up the glad shout . . .
” Here she comes! “
Finbar says
So sorry Jennifer. All my prayers are with you and your family right now.

Irish_425 – there may be worse things than losing a parent, being abused by a parent for 15 years, watching your child die of illness, having a child going missing, dying while you have small children and worrying about what will happen to them… Losing anyone is hard – but let’s not “measure” what is worse and what isn’t.

In time you will heal. Just find that quite space within yourself.

Much Love,

Here are some lyrics to one of my most favorite songs (Here by the Window) by Miranda Lee Richards. I thought about these lyrics all the time after my grandpa passed away last year.
It was here by the window
I saw the truth outside today
Beyond the walls that kept on closing
The ones that took my breath away.
So I go uncovered
Yeah I step out in the rain
‘Cause I was waiting for life to happen
Instead of living it each day…
Way up on the shelf I can rest my wings,
and that’s where you’ll find me
I cannot explain, so much higher than me
And that’s where I’ll be
uh huh.
So I grow a bit restless
My Patience is slowing me down
I put to rest old habits
And I awaken what sleeps I’ve been waiting round…
Way up on this the shelf I can rest my wings,
and that’s where you’ll find me
Out of harms way, so much higher than me
And that’s where I’ll be
uh huh
Yeah I wanna shine shine shine
Ooh I wanna shine shine shine
I’m gonna learn how to fly
Oh, learn how to fly

Pam in Kansas City says

Jennifer,
My thoughts are with you and your family.

Hi Jennifer,
My heart goes out you and your family…it’s a huge loss. I understand what you are going through, as I lost my Mom, I was 38 and she was 64 and from cancer…very similar. I know you are living in a fog right now and your heart is broken…like a bad dream. Take time, it will pass, and hold on to your memories…they will help you through.
erin - NC says
jennifer – please accept my sincere and heartfelt condolences to you. the very word ‘cancer’ is just so cold, depressing, and unforgiving – whether the battle against it is won or lost – all families who experience it, experience it TOGETHER. please don’t forget the wonderful and supportive people that surround you and use them as you need to – get angry, cry, laugh, tell great stories about your amazing mother, whatever it takes to get you through this. never forget to keep on talking about your mom and keeping her spirit alive through all your memories.
Guylene says
Jennifer,
I am so sorry for your loss.

Katy says

Denise @ EatPlayLove says

F*CK, I’m SO sorry, so sorry, so sorry.
Do not blame yourself, spend the time loving her memory and know that because of her you are a great mom, and you will be a great gramma, and your kids will have loving memories of her.
I don’t know what’s worse, losing a fab mom/gramma or never having decent or loving ones in the first place.
Taryn in Fla says
Jennifer, your loss saddens me so much and I’m so very, very deeply sorry to hear about your mother. That’s such a beautiful photo of you mom – she looks so regal. It sounds like you had such a special relationship with her and I really enjoyed the shows when she would call in and comment. My sympathy to you and your family.
JoJo says
She wants you to be happy, move on and remember her often!
kat says
I am so, so sorry for the loss of your wonderful mother. My condolences to you and your family.

I know it sounds strange, my dad’s been gone five years now and I can still hear in my head they ways he’d say hello when I would call every morning. i am so sorry to hear about your tremendous loss. i don’t know if these words will give you any solace, especially now, but i and countless others who don’t know you and those countless others who do are all thinking of you, your mom, and your family. may your mom rest in peace and may you and yours find peace of mind – and peace through the knowledge that you and she loved each other your whole life and that love will endure forever. although i found [and enjoyed] your blog through martha stewart, this is the first time i’ve commented. it will take a while but you have great strength, and with your family, you will come through the other end even stronger if that’s possible, and with love, love, love.
all the best from my heart to yours,
geri

Prayers for you and your family as you cope with this tremendous loss. It’s hard to lose someone you love, but I think that you love your Mom enough to let her go, so that she suffers no more. When my Dad passed, remembering that his suffering had ended was the only thing that got me through. Wishing you peace.

God bless you Jennifer

I was praying and hoping that you would never make this post to your blog. Please know that you and your family are in many people’s thoughts. I hope you are being hugged an awful lot right now.
Darcy says
You have my heart felt sympathies and prayers. You have been through a horrendous time and the Lord decided to take your mother. There are really no words to make this time any less devasting. Please know that there are many people who sympathize with you because they have experienced something similar. I lost my Dad when I was 14 and then my mother when I was 21. It ain’t easy any time and my heart aches for you and your family. Your mother will always live on in her children and it isn’t much comfort now – but I found it to be something to hold onto. Bless you and your loved ones. Darcy Coale

Deep Regards to you and your family. When cancer takes a parent (as it did my dad) it’s so horrifing and doubly cruel.

Just tapped in and was so sorry to learn of your mother’s passing. I don’t think we are ever truly ready to “fly” without the safety net of our moms no matter how old we are. Wishing you and your family whatever brings you peace at this most difficult time.

God Bless. Susan

May she rest in peace and may G-d help you through this terrible time.

My deepest sympathies.
