DIDDO says
I love it! I always wanted to make bumper stickers that said this, because my Mom passed from a very rare cancer. Thanks Frank… and how can we place our orders;) FUCK CANCER
Sunshine says
Please don’t hang that up on your wall and try to explain it to your children. I understand where you are comimg from and your anger, but they are kids. They do not need anyone to tell them what Cancer is, they already lost their Grandmother to it. They know all to well what is going on. Please, Jennifer, beautiful scarf but I wouldn’t want it in my face everyday. Think about this, what does FUCK CANCER, really mean to a child. Sooo sorry, there will be better days, I promise
Lisa says
AMAZING! Absolutely amazing. Can I have one?
I will wear it proudly very day, even when the temp and humidity are both in the 90’s
Denise says
I think he’s got a good idea there. I’d wear that before I’d wear a rubber yellow bracelet.
James J says
Now thats a scarf I would wear!!!!
Lori says
Fucking awesome Frank!!!!
Donna in AZ says
Love it!
Sarah says
Frank, you should sell those! My mom has terminal cancer and I just found out my dad has lung cancer. Double FUCK. I would totally buy one.
Glenn in the tree says
Fuck yea!Fuck Cancer! I love when the show has cussing on it, when needed. Myself, whenever anyone complains about my language, I tell them that only strong words can express strong feelings. so kiss my ^&#.
Kathi says
Jen – that scarf is AWESOME! and so are you!
jenny hutt says
hi sunshine,
don’t worry, i haven’t decided yet where i will put it. it will not be where my kids will be reminded…you are right.
regardless, it’s fantastic and i wish i could wear wool.
xxx
Lynne says
I just found out 2 days ago that two friends are dying from lung cancer. One is 54, and the other 60. Fuck Cancer….
Sharon - OH says
Lighten up Sunshine. I think Jennifer knows what’s best for her children.
Love the scarf. As someone who is “living with” recurrent, non-curable ovarian cancer, I’d love to wear that scarf every day.
Sar Chasm says
Can you ever post something clean?
Matt V says
Very cool! Sends a clear message!!!!!
Jen says
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
That statement says it all!
Take care,
jen
raquel says
fan fucking tastic
bernadette says
Your kids should say FUCK CANCER too. And fuck Sunshine- we can’t wear helmets everywhere.
to Sunshine says
in the words of the Joker “why so serious?” and you’re not very sunny are you asshole? Assume that’s her office at work next time before you jump down her throat for showing off something that took that much time to make, of which she was just showing the rest of us. Also, don’t tell people how to raise their kids – afterall, this fabulous quote came from her twelve year old nephew so obviously, kids deserve a little more credit than we adults give them and apparently are well aware of what cancer is. Anything else you need explained to you?
Annette in CA says
That’s priceless!
camille says
i’m a knitter and this is inspiring! fuck cancer!
(((hugs))) to you, jennifer.
Jenny in Detroit says
Now that’s a slogan I can totally support. Great job Frank!
anna banana says
LOVE IT! omg i would love to have that!
chris says
if you can’t wear wool (crap, he spent a lot of money on that), pay someone to make it into a pillow and, at night, when you really really feel like shit, take it out, cuddle it, remember the good times and never forget. hey, frank, neat job. patent it, make a cheaper version and sell it online.
karen says
Fuck cancer! It took another one today; Randy Pausch who wrote the inspiring “The Last Lecture”.
Lisa says
Dear “Sunshine” and “Sar Chasm”;
SHUT THE FUCK UP!
Dear Frank;
AWESOME!
Dear Jennifer;
It’s nice to see a little more levity and it’s apparent that you are working through the steps of getting back into life. It’s sooooo hard, and you’ll always have your “moments” but keep handling it with your special form of sarcasm, humor and GRACE.
Oh yeah, and Dear Cancer
FUCK YOU!
Peace…
Tricia says
Love the scarf! You go girl!
Going to a benefit tomorrow for my friends sister-in-law. Helping to kick cancer’s butt! F-cancer!
gigi/joann says
I, for one, would NOT wear that or want it in my home or anywhere around me. Why give such evilness as cancer power? Just expressing that kind of anger towards anything is giving “it” power over you. Plus, it’s somewhat ugly.
skibrockgirl says
frank is one talented dude. wish i could knit inspiration like that. so glad he was able to bring you something that comforts you like that!
Jane M says
Fan-damn-tastick!
kristin says
seriously Jennifer, could you ask frank if he will take orders on this. I would like a pink one for sure!!!!! Pppppppppplease 🙂
To Sunshine says
You’re a real idiot and a judgemental jerk. Do you really think that’s hanging in Jennifer’s home. Thank about it, dick!
Frank in Phoenix says
Thanks most everyone for the kind comments!
Actually, while I knit constantly, this scarf is crocheted and has no color change loops on the backside. It’s a fun thing to make and I have worked on them in waiting rooms and while having chemo to avoid having friends have to schlep down to keep me company.
I can make scarves, pillows, bags, and felted items that say this and anything you’d like them to say. I never make anything that my grandmother would approve of.
If truly interested in something special, you can email me at negativitysucks@gmail.com and we can talk about it.
But most of all, thanks for the positive input!
to gigi/joann says
You’re always the worst commenter on here, were you beaten as a child? Are you a battered wife or something? You’re so fucking out of control it’s not even funny. It would be different if that scarf said “fuck martha stewart”
but this says “fuck cancer” which is pretty much a normal person’s response. you need to get a grip on the real world and fry you up a batch of shut the fuck up, moron. I hope someone close to you suffers from a serious illness just so you’ll see what it’s like. It would obviously take you a lot of un-winding before you got un-done so why don’t you run along now and take care of that and not come back? That would be your best contribution to this blog.
to gigi/joann and sunshine says
you’re both just jealous that you didn’t think of the idea first and get some recognition for all to see – get a life losers.
Frank is super talented... says
Hope he is gonna be selling some…
we have the terrible towel in PITTSBURGh
the American Cancer Society could sell those haha
my sis died of cancer as well
it spread and she had tremmers then was unable to walk,,
she did not know she had it till it took over
yes i say
FUCK CANCER!!!!
Frank in Phoenix says
Oh, and for Gigi/Joann, my partner is a rabbi who deals with the chronically ill, terminally ill, and grieving. He was horrified by your comments and suggests that you realize that cancer has power all on its own. How everyone deals with it in order to give oneself a positive energy varies from one person to the next. How you deal with something isn’t how everyone should, in other words.
And if you think it’s ugly, that would have been better left unsaid. Your negativity is so evident in that post that I can’t imagine what purpose you had for posting other than to hurt feelings or spread a negative agenda.
You shall not worry your pointed little head about it. I will not be mailing one to you in my lifetime. You can now sleep better in the knowledge. Good tidings to you.
listener of the week says
Frank should be a listener of the week! are you still doing that type of segment? Frank rocks and cancer sucks!
chris says
FRANK: this sucks, the chemo. can i be noisy – what type of cancer do you have? all our prayers are with you and what a wonderful human being you must be (i don’t call many people that as they don’t deserve the title) to think of someone else and make something so wonderful while you are sick. wow.
sunshine said says
Well I guess the sun has set, I didn’t mean anything derogatory, its just that I have lost many people in my life to cancer. So that said Jennifer do what you want with the scarf, hang it where ever you want. Hang it high, I know its a great scarf, I personally wouldn’t want to look at it everyday. On a positive note, you have been doing great on the show. Bunny would be PROUD. Go to Vegas and have a wonderful time, just check on Alexis and make sure she is in
her room by 9, Ha Ha
Mica says
Good job Frank, that is awesome. Jen, it’s good to hear you on the radio.
Have a great weekend,
😉
xoxo
Mica
TGL says
I wish I thought of this!!
Jon says
Frank, you’re awesome. FUCK CANCER
Frank in Phoenix says
I had (and technically still have) a brainstem glioma, which I have survived and at the moment, is in remission. I am currently having treatment for a tumor on my spine, which unfortunately is not operable, but highly treatable and I have high hopes for success.
Between the Wellness Community and a circle of knitting friends who complain about mundane things (which I adore), I can always find a reason to get up in the morning and make more strange and controversial things that would make my grandmother cringe.
I really wanted to finish this scarf sooner but I am glad it’s done and is *mostly* well received.
And yes, I can always make more 🙂
laura m. says
on a much happier note, the xm and sirius merger was approved!!!!!
Sonja says
HI Jennifer.
Thanks for sharing the scarf with us. What a wonderful thoughtful gift. Frank, I know you brighted Jennifer’s day when she opened it. I heard a bit of “old Jennifer” in hear voice when she was talking about it. Frank you do beautiful work. Thank you for sharing art with us. I wish you all the best. You are a very talented person. What an excellent project. Be well and take care.
ok says
Sunshine? Sometimes less is more. You’ve already pissed nearly everyone off so we’re not ready to make nice.
kenn L says
I LOVE IT!
chris says
FRANK: thanks for answering my question. people like you are the real heroes in this world. you hear people constantly complain if they gain two pounds, if they broke a nail or have a headache or, god forbid, cramps. like it’s the end of the world. then we have a few ill chosen who get the worse of everything and don’t complain. they even try to make other people feel better. fucking amazing man you are. you will beat this because you now have soooo many listeners praying to whatever being is out there for you to get better. (someone once told my sister that her nasty surgery scar from cancer is beautiful. she was like, are you for real. and they told her to be proud of it, that this is your battle cry, your war scar. be the survivor you are and please, if you want to, keep us informed.) pleasure knowing you, c
chris says
TO WHATEVER STAFF: you guys have some money, fly frank and his partner in and try to book him on martha. now that would be sweet.
Lisa from Connecticut says
That is effin’ fabulous!
Leah says
If anyone listens to Rabbi Shmuley on XM radio you might of heard his show on sufferring. In a nutshell he is appalled
by the current buzz phrases such as “suferring gives one strength, or cancer made me appreciate life more.”
Rabbi Shmuley emphatically said over and over on the radio show “CANCER SUCKS, CANCER IS EVIL.” He would love that scarf–course being a rabbi he might not personally use the F word in public.
He is sick and tired of hearing people (not you Jennifer) talk about cancer being redemptive–people who say it was a gift, it gave them strength —Jenniger maybe you could get him on the show–you’ll love him. Take my word–he would love the scarf.
Linda says
I didn’t like Sunshine’s comment either, but s/he did try to say nice things too, unlike the “gigi/joann” thing. “ok,” you don’t have the right to speak for me, so don’t. Sunshine, way to try and make nice. Nobody gets it right the first time every time, and it must have been hard to write a more positive note after receiving all that venom from the perfect crowd.
And, finally – FRANK! What a wonderful and thoughtful gift!!!
Linda says
Jennifer, you are doing it “right,” as long as you keep getting up every day. You cry because you aren’t burying your feelings. You can smile because you aren’t clinging to the pain, either. You’ll really *live* again. You will. But, for today, I wish you what ever peaceful moments you can find.
from sunshine to sunshine says
Did you really hear the show on Thursday? Well I just heard the repeat and I have decided that you are the asshole and a judgemental jerk. I would never tell people how to raise their children, and I didn’t know that Fuck Cancer was a fabulous quote. Do you need anything else explained to you. Grow Up!
ok to Linda says
pretty sure I wasn’t speaking for you, sorry for the lack of attention.
Linda who said..... says
FUCK CANCER
seriously sunshine? says
Are you really just responding to a quote from like a year ago? Bless your heart, didn’t realize you were slow and yes, fuck cancer IS a fabulous quote so go fuck YOURSELF.
Kathlic Kristin says
Frank you are a magnificent bastard. What a fabulous attitude on you! and the person that wrote “fry up a batch of shut the fuck up” I never heard that and I nearly busted a gut. Love the people on here!
To Seriously Sunshine says
I ammmm sooo sorrry that I am slow. I love your vocabulary, I am going to try to spell the word fucccck, oh I think I did it. Go and excercise, I mean have a exorcism your bed might lift off of the floor. Would that make you happy. Bounce, Bounce Bounce. Nice talking with you. Really it’s funny that you are soooo, (I ammm sorry I am getting slooow again) I know the quote came from Shakespeare. Love ya, Fabulous
to Kathlic Kristin says
we love you too – that quote is usually “how bout a nice big glass of shut the fuck up” but could tell I was dealing with a great big redneck and we all know how they love their shit bathed in lard and smeared all over an iron skillet… lol – no offense guys. And Frank IS an awesome guy!! People are so serious and uptight sometimes….
Lily says
Just read all of these. Why is everyone so upset because two people out of how many? said they didn’t like the scarf? I thought WHATEVER was all about our own opinions? Geez. So much anger over two negative comments!
seriously to sunshine says
Um, you really did just confirm you’re slow, since you obviously missed the fact that it was in reference to your mental capacity and not the speed of which words come out of your mouth – i.e. special ed, short bus – ringing any bells here? Maybe the lights are on but no one is home?
