Ok! We’ve been wondering what it was all about. This is great!!! I can’t wait to watch. I was a viewer of the old Martha shows so this will be even better. By the way Jen, that is a beautiful picture of you in the article. One of the best I’ve seen of you.
Good luck.
Sounds GREAT, can’t wait, I’ve been a Martha fan since BEFORE she had a show, magazine etc. She’s educated me for over 20 years….I know she has a sense of humor, it will be fun to see the old shows again!I enjoy reading you guys too,Good luck with the new show! Wendy
I don’t freakin’ get Fine Living on Optimum/Cablevision, which is my cable provider.(NY, southern Westchester County) I have long been furious that cable is such a monopoly, and I can’t get a dish since I live in an apartment. I can’t begin to tell you how upset I am!!!! Sounds hilarious, and explains the strange get-ups we saw you wearing in some of the photos.
the new york times is a mouthpiece of the facist american regime. enjoy your “happy meals” you american pigs. (which by the way are propaganda to make you think you are actually…’happy’)
It would be nice if at the end of the show Martha comes out to help Jennifer and Alexis save an orchid. Just to show that the critics still have much to learn don’t you think?
Don’t forget to wear your lacross gear on your heads just like Mystery Theatre 3000.
OMG…sooooo great!!! I was really worried for your super secret endeavor based on the crazy hints/clues you gave us…but now I totally get it. I am so excited and can’t wait to watch. I’m even going to make my mother-in-law (who is anti-Martha) watch too! Love, love, love it!
Going to have to tune in I CAN I EVER REMEMBER THE NEW CHANNELS ON THE FIOS WHICH THEY JUST CHANGED AGAIN! Sheesh, I just got my favorite channels memorized in my head, and now they go and revamp all the numbers!
The show is going to be great. I love your and Alexis’ humor and making fun of old martha clips is something the only the two of you can do right. It wouldnt work with anyone else. I am tuning in, I love you guys and now I can get a double dose. YES!!!
can’t wait for the show! I’m now going to have to order fine living since I don’t have it,but it will be worth it to watch you two!! Of course I have the added benefit of watching re-runs of martha’s show also.
OMG how perfect! I will never forget the first Martha show I saw. It was about Thanksgiving dinner and I swear it started out with ————–but first we will make a chandelier. I laughed so hard but I watched and always loved the showes. Thought is was just my warped sense of humor that noticed the sexual innuendo
well there is a link on the front page of nytime.com to the article. i propose that everyone email the link to anyone they know so it makes it into the most popular links this week. i hope there will be more publicity about the show and maybe even the morning talk shows, maybe? this is so exciting. i love you guys and to see you will be more exciting.
I will watch or DVR every single episode so I can watch over and over because I know there will be subtle things I’ll miss when I watch the first time. Although subtle isn’t really what you’re going for, right? Love it! Thank you so much… Both of you ROCK!
I can not wait for this! Already checked and my cable provider has this channel and life is now going to be just a bit funnier……. Thanks you two, you really rock!
when i was listening to your show on thursday or friday, you guys were critiquing something and i thought: wow, you sound so much like mystery science theater. i almost called to tell you that and then i figured you wouldn’t know what i was talking about! guess you do–and your show sounds fantastic. can’t wait to see it.
For those of you, like me, who don’t get Fine Living: I have gone to their website to request that they offer it online. They do have some shows that one can watch online, so if enough of us request it, perhaps it will happen.
Mystery Science theater hmm are you two in silhouette and wear funny hats
I taped many of Martha’s early shows and cringe at some things However the highlights are the compost segment the garden tutetor the message board, the House tour the Turkey Hill House tour oh gosh Captain Onion er Thorpe must have been a tall man look how high the ceilings are does the fact there was no air conditioning back then could that have had something to do with it ?? and the guys decorating the christmas trees and how each branch was twined with 30 million lights or the Halloween party when she looked like a bird that was good can’t poke fun at that or the yard sale by the ladies that started at the minuteman oh my gosh do not Poke fun at Little Martha but go for it with the guy making ruegahlah or the guy that captures his own yeast from the air its all in good fun but I treasure each show my tape player loves to eat them too so my library is dwindling
That Thanksgiving show was the first time I ever saw Martha too. I remember the turkey soup terrines, the colors, and they way she set the table. Changed my life. I will really enjoy checking out the old episodes!
OMG, I think that this is going to be fabulous. I am so glad that we can all finally know what the top secret project is all about !!! Good luck ladies I will be watching.
Jennifer you look SO CUTE & camera ready. Alexis needs to tweek the makeup and fussy hair. When you get “older” less is more with the maquillage and couffier.
OMG – I don’t get the Fine Living Channel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT am I going to do now?!?!?!?!? I need tapes of the show mailed to me!! LOL Seriously, this is so cool – and what a great idea. Who cares what everyone else says – who doesn’t make fun of their mother?!?!? 🙂 Like you said, it is all in good fun, and Martha asked you to do it. HELP ME find out how I can watch the show!!!!! Love you guys
BIG BUZZ in town about the show! Can’t wait! My friend who knows I love you girls called to tell me you made it on Perez Hilton (yubba dubba do!!) also H. Stern talked about it this morning. I just can’t believe it. Are u girls coming to promote the show here on Leno or the Ellen show? Let me know. I’ll meet you at the Ivy or let’s go to Mozza… PLEEZ!!!! Congrats, I know it’s going to be a FANTASTIC show!
I CANNOT wait to see this! It sounds awesome! I loved the old Martha shows. On day right before the show was about to come on my cable went out and there I was – on the phone telling the cable customer service rep “but Martha Stewart is about to come on! I need my cable fixed NOW!” haha, yeah, I lead a simple life….
Congratulations!
I’m so excited to see the tv show! I remember once watching an episode of Martha’s show where she and a cute guy were doing some carpentry – shelves or something. As they were getting ready to put the wood together Martha says “okay, let’s screw” (or something like that) – followed by a period of dead silence. I thought it was hysterical as they both kept a straight face.
Those folks at the New York Times are totally nuts. Martha ABSOLUTELY gave her seal of approval for that new TV show; in point of fact, she came up with it! I was standing right there (at the “Good Things Event”) when she first asked your opinions on it. She said something like: “Maybe we should do a television show like the one they have on ‘TV Land’ where you girls would watch my old segments and make entertaining comments on them”. Remember, Jenny? It was towards the end of the day when you were both signing autographs at your booth?
You ladies had a classic moment in the beginning of the show yesterday that cracked me up. You were talking about the nepotism factor and Jen said something like “its been 3 years now, if the show tanked we’d be gone (hesitation) Right?” and Alexis goes (hesitation) “Right” I don’t know if you even noticed the tone of your voices but it was perfect. I’ll be watching the new show, you are hilarious.
I read the NYTimes article and was so happy. I’m so glad we can now openly discuss Martha’s wardrobe. Specifically, the camel toe she’s sporting on the cover of one of the older cookbooks. She’s wearing pale blue pants or jeans. Now don’t get me wrong, I LOVE MARTHA.
I made a point of buying a Martha Stewart product every single month when she was incarcerated as my way of showing support, but that cover shot is too funny.
Jennifer – I had to pass this along. My daughter (7 years old) wanted to see what “the girls” look like. Her first comment was “wow Jennifer is way cuter than Alexis”. No dis meant for Alexis, I love you both, but I thought Jennifer would appreciate the compliment.
