Thanks for posting this Jennifer! Is Margaret Cho in this play also? I love how they bring up the fact that some people pick and choose what parts of the bible should be followed.(such as eating shrimp) Gay marriage should be such a non-issue in this day and age… A gay magazine’s front cover simply stated….GAY IS THE NEW BLACK! Thanks for the support!
Joy to the world. New study reports Happiness is contagious. Don’t worry be happy and for that fact I will not watch a video that says prop hate it could be contagious though it could have a virus and well a news report links a new virus to a Facebook link somehow or other be ware nothing personal but find out about the new virus from facebook– an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. please don’t read anything into this I am just passing along something oh my that didn’t sound good either. o well I’m signing off this is my last post. Peace
Career Day response. Jennifer would do well as a librarian as she wants order and routine. it would be quiet and calm. The shelving of books would provided instant gratification of a book put in its proper place. Or she could be a shipper for Lands End filling endless boxes of orders from through out the warehouse. Or she and family could try out for the new cast of Frontier House the PBS series which pits family against the elements of western Montana; building a cabin from scratch providing sustenance from scratch, collecting enough firewood to get you through winter til spring etc etc
OMFG!! I would totally watch every episode of FH if Jennifer was on there. Could you imagine the first time she had to wash her hair in cow pee and couldn’t use her hot curlers??!! Now that would be some funny stuff!! 🙂
I suppose there will be no one else to ask why there has been the spin of “hate” put into this proposition. Do people sincerely believe that the majority of those who supported this prop did it due to hate? Truthfully? Are people who read this blog (and frequently comment) open minded enough to realize this is not the truth? I really think that “hate” has been added to make those who support it seem horrible enough so feelings will be manipulated and changed. This is not about hate, sorry. Marriage is not a word, an idea, about a legal document, or even a “right”. People have not defined it, God has. I understand that this notion is really repugnant to some people, but it is what it is. This is precisely why we cannot “solve” social issue of this sort with debating, arguing and manipulation. These issues start with our belief about who God is. If we believe in Him, what has He already said about these issues. Not,what have we wanted Him to say. If we do not believe in Him or find Him relevant, realizing His existence is not contingent on our belief or lack thereof. Research it all for yourselves, don’t take one person’s word for it. Blessings to you who have truly felt hated. That is a shame, regardless of your preferences.
I don’t think it’s about hate… but I do think it’s about ignorance!!!
The clip is amazing – love that it points out that a variety of religions (Way of the Master included) pick and choose what they think “matters” in the bible. In all reality, if we followed what was written, we would think a father could be absolved of sleeping with his daughter just because he was drunk. And anyone who believes that SHOULD BE going to hell!!
I’m not a religious person, but do believe there is a greater power – I just haven’t found a religion that will say that power is flawed and has an evil, nasty side – that’s what I believe!!
OK, let’s start with the proposition that K is correct in her interpretation that marriage is historically defined by God. That is fine. So taking this belief to its logical conclusion, married people should not be given any special rights, tax breaks, preferences or classifications by the government which places them in a financially and constitutionally superior position to gay people. Married people, clearly have many more rights in this country than gay people. If marriage is a religious sacrement only, then it should in no way be recognized by the United States government and the government has no business rewarding religious adherents who marry. It is contrary to Equal Protection. Let the churches of this country grant all the special financial privileges to their married congregants and see how fast the churches conclude that maybe, just maybe, there is excessive entanglement between church and state, when the mandate from the congregation is that the church has to pay for all the perks obtained by marrying. This is just common sense. Thanks for clearing that up for us, K.
