so chatbox regulars and everyone else.. please leave here in the blog comments whatever it is you want me to do on the treadmill. within reason!
spent the day with kids and keith and much of the rest of my family. read a terrific book called the tea rose by jennifer donnelly.
and now we are all in one room getting ready for bed. not sure what the hurricane will or won’t be. kind of nervous and kind of calm. hoping it turns out to be no big deal. the hooplah and mass hysteria surrounding this storm is freaky and unlike anything ive experienced before. ive been through major snowstorms but somehow those are portrayed as fun in the media rather than (potentially) devastating.
please please please stay safe wherever YOU are.
i know i havent updated the food diary in a couple of days. i will again for sure starting monday (like a real dieter would say “ill start again monday” ha!)
talk to you tomorrow from my sister’s treadmill…or from mine.
again, be safe.

Sounds like you had the same frenzy going on in your neck of the woods. Hate to say it, but we got caught up in it a bit today. My dog freaks out over rain/thunder/lightning…so she hasn’t been out of our bedroom closet since 5pm. I got a little obsessive…felt the urge to do laundry and dishes before we potentially lost power. Cause everyone knows you need a tidy house during a natural disaster…lol. Not bad here yet. Heavy rain for hours but the worst is still coming. Oddly feel like I should stay awake…just in case. In case if what-and what I’d do, I don’t know. What’s the oddest thing you felt an itch to do in this mayhem?

No worries Jennifer. I slept through Ike ( category 3). If anything, all of these disasters will prompt people everywhere to be prepared. No one is exempt from natural disasters. I hope you and your family are safe and sound!!

Hey there, Jennifer! I hope you and everyone in my life that I care so deeply for are safe tonight and tomorrow. If you haven’t already done so, try to gather some old towels because many times a hurricane will force water under your doors and even sometimes the windows. Also, tarps are good to have around, just in case. I’ve lived down South for 22 yrs, having grown up in Suffolk county,Long Island (we were def. spoiled when it came to not having bad weather!) and been through quite a few. They ALL scare me, honestly. I had just moved from Miami to Ft.Lauderdale when Hurricane Andrew hit. About a month later, we drove down to see our old apartment and there were walls missing!!! Soooo scary to think we could have lost everything and possibly each other if we hadn’t moved when we did. I hope you all can get at least some sleep tonight. Stay safe!

Hi Jenny ! Would you give recommendations for best books you’ve read recently? Also would you give the cottage cheese/apple butter recipe again ? Thanks Jenny. You rock!
Jenny says
lowfat cottage cheese with 2 tbs apple butter, a sprinkle of cinnamon and some raisins- watch the amount of raisins so calories don’t get too high. totally delicious!!!
