Box office report: ‘Fast & Furious 6’ breaks $100 million, ‘Hangover III’ sobers up on record-breaking weekend
Here’s what the Memorial Day weekend taught us: America really likes the Fast & Furious franchise, but America loves movies. The four-day holiday racked up $314 million in receipts, the largest-ever Memorial Day weekend at the box office. As for Fast 6, it’s hard to talk about the successful opening without resorting to cliché. Despite hitting theaters in a crowded May marketplace, the Universal film earned an estimated $120,019,000, the fourth-highest Memorial Day opening in history, for a per-theater average of $33,400. That’s the second-biggest opening this year, behind Iron Man 3, and a sizable leap from the trajectory of the previous two Fasts (and most predictions).

Justin Bieber’s House Visited by Police Following Complaints of Singer’s Alleged Reckless Driving
Justin Bieber may be living life in the fast lane, but when it comes to his home turf, folks literally want him to slow down.
On Monday evening, police visited the singer’s Los Angeles home in response to calls complaining about Biebs’ alleged reckless driving.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirms to E! News that cops went to the “Beauty and a Beat” crooner’s house, but no other information was disclosed.
A source, meanwhile, tells E! News that police received numerous calls on Mondaycomplaining of Bieber’s alleged driving while in the neighborhood.
The complaints stated that the star was reckless and drove too fast while children were outside.
This wouldn’t be the first time Bieber’s faced off with the folks in his ‘hood: In March, the 19-year-old was accusedof threatening a neighbor and spitting in his face after the two got into an alleged altercation.
Amanda Bynes Denies Slamming Rihanna, Says Other Crazy Stuff
Amanda Bynes claims she never called Rihanna ugly; admits she smokes tobacco; and swears she’s a model citizen.
Yes, a few hours after writing that she’s suing everybody, this actress went off on another Twitter rant yesterday.
It started kind of innocently enough, with Bynes denying she ever slammed Rihanna.
“I saw a bunch of mocked up tweets about me bashing Rihanna in my mentions,” she wrote. “I’m followed by so many people that someone is always mocking up fake tweets so I feel the need to address them!”
And then it devolved into… who the heck knows what?!?
“That’s one of the mocked up images, they took photos of me from outside and morphed them onto someone else’s body. I am allergic to marijuana and alcohol but I smoke tobacco. Why does Rihanna smoke weed and not get in trouble for it but I smoke tobacco and people think I’m on drugs?” Amanda asked.
The severely troubled young woman went on to say she refuses “to be treated like someone I’m not, which is why I fought for myself and am suing everyone involved.”
She then said she has no need for rehab because there is “never a drug or alcohol” in her system and that she’s “sick of all the lies.”
“What would you do if someone accused you of things you didn’t do and yet you still had to be in jail at all over it! I’m so offended but I am so educated that I know cops cannot illegally enter my apartment, sexually harass me, arrest me, take me to a MENTAL HOSPITAL, then lock me up for a crime I didn’t commit.
“I’m suing them all for this upsetting nightmare. My lawyer knows I’m a model citizen who doesn’t partake in drugs. He’s going to court this week to set the record straight again on my behalf. Thankfully I’m an educated multi-millionaire who knows better than to speak to perverted unjust cops without my lawyer.”
Bynes is due in court on July 9 to answer charges that she tossed a bong out of a window last week.
She alleges she was set up by an officer who sexually harassed her.
