In an exclusive Sirius XM interview with Jenny Hutt airing on Wednesday 10.29.14, legend Barry Manilow had a lot to say about music's hottest stars. He also expressed "disappointment" in Justin Bieber. JH: Let’s talk about some of the most talked about acts in music today and the question is “are they your ‘cup of tea’ or ‘not for me’? BM: You know I stopped listening to the radio. I must say I may not know any of the people on your list. JH: [Laughs]Ok so Taylor Swift. Cup of Tea? Or ‘not for me?’ BM: You know, it may be my cup of tea. I have to study her a little bit more. She’s huge and I’ve heard a couple of her records. And there is something there. JH: The stuff that she writes about heartache is very strong. I think you’ll that. Ok Miley Cyrus? BM: I think she has a great voice. As far as the songwriting, well you know, don’t ask me about today’s song writing. I think she has a great voice. JH: Madonna? BM: A genius. JH: Justin Bieber? BM: Maybe he would be a good song writer. I don’t know, he’s just gone into another world. JH: He had this talent, he was magnanimous, and then…. BM: Right, so I don’t know. I’m disappointed that he didn’t’ go where I was hoping he’d go. JH: Kanye West? BM: Great. JH: Beyonce? BM: I think she’s invented a new kind of music. I’ve never heard anything like it. It’s exciting. It’s not for the musicians of the world, but it’s really something. JH: That’s why they call her Queen Bey. And then Katy Perry? BM: Yeah. I like her.
