This year let’s listen to the positive voice in our heads instead of the negative one.
This year let’s choose belief over disbelief.
This year let’s get off our asses and try. Really try.
This year let’s say yes.
And let’s say no when we really don’t want to say yes.
This year let’s treat everything that happens (even the icky stuff) as opportunity to be better.
This year it’s ok to cry.
This year let’s be kinder.
This year let’s let our kids be kids a bit longer before we start yelling at them!
This year let’s take groupies instead of selfies. (thanks for the reminder elan!)
This year let’s eat cake without self loathing. (Same for pizza)
This year let’s appreciate what we have rather than what we don’t.
This year let’s exercise because we want to-not because we have to!
This year let’s be honest on Facebook.
This year let’s filter ourselves less, in pictures and in life. And on that note-
Let’s stop editing out the truth in our pictures.
This year let’s do the right thing because it feels good.
This year let’s also be a little bit naughty- because that feels good too.
This year let’s admit when we’re wrong and be humble when we’re right.
This year let’s give instead of take.
This year let’s accept rather than reject.
This year let’s make sure our friends know they can talk to us, and we’ll listen!
This year let’s learn from our mistakes.
This year let’s let go of some of that familiar-middle-age anger.
This year let’s laugh at ourselves just a little bit more than we did last year.
This year let’s give the ones we love the benefit of the doubt.
This year let’s love more and hate less.
This year let’s grow.

You are so right. The world would be a better place and our lives.(and those around us) would be so much better even if we did half of your list i

This is awesome Jenny! I feel every single declaration you made as being so in alignment with my own thinking.
Good for you for saying it like it is. Just loved this post.
