new tales from the treadmill video. and. is it ok for our kids to know just how emotional we are? and by we… i mean me! and also today’s show recap!

August 25, 2011 by 17 Comments

this morning my son woke up, came downstairs and found me on the couch with laptop on top of pillow on top of my lap (i’d been there since 6:45am- he arrived 8am).  i had been copying and pasting questions from the chatbox onto another file so i could answer them on the treadmill. and (obv) i’d been doing this a while. and i looked a bit like a panda bear this morning for whatever reason- a bit bleary and dark eyed (with my belly hanging out of my shirt (i had no idea!) keith took the picture and insisted i posted so you all had an accurate visual ha!).
and my son looked at me. and said: “mommy, are you crying again?”

happily, i was able to say no.
not as happily i have to admit that my kids catch me crying. a lot.
and it isn’t because i am depressed. i am not depressed.
it is PROBABLY a response to my anxiety (a constant/chronic blog topic along with my weight),
but mostly it is, i think, my body’s way of processing stress.

and i tell my kids, i’m just this way. and really, it is ok.

i’m so proud of my babies. they are delicious and kind and loving and irritating and fantastic and funny and smart and talented and delightful as they should be.

and i am their imperfect mommy. and i know they wouldnt want me any other way.

and today’s tales from the treadmill with a special message to the men who watch it.

please leave questions, comments, requests here..in the blog is better than the chatbox but ill take either!!! thank you!!!

Girls? YOu are not a girl anymore, no matter how hard you try and act like a 12 year old. Also, did you seriously ask a blind man how does he type? Are you seriously that stupid? WTF is wrong with you? Get your head out of your own ass – you are the most self-obsessed person! And OMG that horrible whiny voice! The absolute WORST!

I wasn’t sure whether or not he was being sincere on fb page bc he was asking me to describe myself so he’d have a visual.
I think asking questions is ok! And re all other assertions u made. That’s all cool. Don’t have to like me. Glad youre watching regardless. Sending love!

You are certainly a cool customer Jenny. It’s not easy to reply to such an nasty post with friendliness and tact. Much less to even post it in a moderated forum. Big ups!

I thought this was a joke, if you have nothing nice to say why say it at all.

This was a Tour de Force Jenny! I can’t believe that you answer some of the questions that you do. You seemed particularly out of breath though. I have called 911 for you.

worked really hard for about 6 years at gym lost over 30 lbs, then for the past year, I developed a bad attitude and gave it up, always thought about it so was aware of what I was doing but didn’t care, so here I am 30+ lbs later, 6 years to get it off 1 year to get it back. I have bought the coolest treadmill really love it, but I love geek stuff, it posts my workouts to my facebook page, which I think is a motivator, if someone is watching I am going to do it, anyways, what speed, incline do you use? One of the things I now watch while treading is your treadmill tales, alot of fun.

Good video today…the group did have a lot of questions for you. I think your enthusiasm for and openness about all things comes across in all you do!

I’m trying to decide today if there’s a need to stock up for Hurricane Irene. I think- for where I am in PA- it’s like the furor that erupts when a blizzard is forecast. People go nuts and we get an inch of snow…but I can feel the mania ebbing into my brain…must…get…groceries. What, if anything, are you expecting and are you a preparer or a fly by the seat of your pants person when it comes to these situations?

Is that how much you think about food that you call your kids delicious? That’s incredible. What do you do? Put your kids in a stew. Hot hot cook it up. You’re never gonna stop. Fancy a bite. Your appetite. Yum yum gee it’s fun!

Funny treadmill story…I was at the gym once and a guy lost his footing and fell off the treadmill. He was face down on the floor and started doing push ups so people didn’t notice but they did. Ha ha ha! I always think of that when I’m on the treadmill. Me standing there with my mouth open, saying “nice save”!
